Extcab Vs Singlecab

I was coming from my friends house and going to drop my gf off hers, was about 11 already. Anyways i see this set of lights come up like crazy and it was a single cab v8 *anybody can tell between a 6 and 8 when its reving at you*. Anyways he starts romping at me like crazy for about 10 good minutes and i decide eh why not. We catch a light, and we take off, im ahead by a carlength than he comes up to my door than i just keep pulling on him. We race like this for about 3 more times and he never passes my door. After that the ****er tries running me off the road by swerving into me and flicking me off :nutz: , im just not gonna race people i dont know anymore

He didn't pull on you?
He must have been completely stock.
I haven't met an ext. cab I couldn't pull on, unless they had some crazy mods.

Shit!! A couple of my buddies run 14.9-14.6 area with just exhaust, cai, hpp3.
They are ext cabs to.

I don't believe that for one second. :bs: They might get those numbers with cam, headers, exhaust, cai, and hpp3.
Ext. Cabs are heavy as hell!
What kind of gears do they have on them? and do they have the G80 also?
And when you say exhaust are you including a good set of headers?

I would expect high 15s but nothing in the 14s on just those mods. :nono:

14.6-9 is single cab territory iwth cai, exhaust and HPP3.

im mid-ish 15's now...about to get the tune and some new tires. i should be looking at 15.1x - 14.9x, or so ive been told. so its possible.

...and ive raced a single cab, along with ext. cabs...havent found anybody yet to out pull me :jump: :smile:

the best i can run with my ext cab is a 14.8. that was with a cai, 3.42 and g80, exhaust, efans, pulley, crappy tune, servo, plugs and wires, free mods and cold air, since that run, i have added, 4.10, pp tb, cam. waiting to put in a 2800 stall. my times are still pretty much the same.

so you went to 4.10 gears, ported TB, and a better cam and you run the same? :thumbdown:

damn, all that money and no gain. Maybe it's time to give Allen a call and have him tune your PCM for the new hardware.

Yes they do have a g80 and all the exhaust system is a magnaflow with a cutout. Oh yea they have free mods done also. If you dont believe come down to h town and see for your self.

Kinjo, my heavy as hell 92 extended cab runs 9.51 in the eight and with the 1.56 factor to calculate the 1/4 shows 14.83 but I bet it runs quicker than that. My engine is all stock LS1 parts at this time. The truck even has heavy cast aluminum Eagle wheels with 32x10.5x15 tires, also heavy. The heavy tonneau cover and subwoofer box with 2 10" Stillwaters is a good 60 lbs more. How much heavier is an extended cab anyway? About 300 lbs?

My ext cab is hitting 15.4 @ 87mph with just 2.5" pipes after the header to a single in/out magnaflow with a turndown after that, and a k-n cone with the stock intake tube. I can usually take any singlecab that stock, I dont have a posi, and im still with the stock 3.42s and tires so i dont have an advantage. Its weird cuz i hear of trucks that have all this stuff and they are just hitting like low 15s, but i recently found out the reason, its all about location

i've ran mid 13's in my Ext Cab...with just a few bolt-ons!!!!

Hey Squirrel yea 13's with some junk on the floor :laugh: I have never had an ext cab pull on me, but have had some stay right with me. My newest time in the 8 is a 9.29 with a sucky 2.63 60' (damn the TQ management) with the mods listed below in 39* weather

that was running a 125 shot. A lot of jaws dropped when i walked on a lightning at the track, after that none of the trucks out there would race me. They were being douche bags...making me line up against 9-10 sec outlaw cars.

ok, update, tune has been worked on. same mods 14.5. btw, there was
only 100 bucks involved in the mods. the cam was given to me. so 3 tenths isn't that bad. i am still on street tires and spinning bad out of the hole.

I turned a 14.76@90.56 in my half ton crew cab, with a 2.124 60' time with just boltons, no header or cam yet.
