Passenger seat, tailgate, the food you just ate before you got to the track...
lol ,,naw i dont want to remove seats or tailgate.
Why not? If it is just for a few passes down the track, why not?
well u have a point,,i want to remove things for good though.i mite look into a fiberglass hood...
you could buy titanium muffler bearings. i hear that those will bring ya down about 15lbs
i already have those thanks...
What about synthetic blinker fluid????
Remove the bed and doors
Sawzall! I saw a video a while ago about a company that took a completely stock camry and made it run low 11s stock. They had fun with the sawzall!
I saw that too. I think it was a sentra
lol i saw that dumb vid as well, rednecks
take out the motor and the trans. Those things weigh a few hundred pounds easy :spit:
ill remove the bed, guess we can turn this into a joke thread :argg:

delete all text from your phone
buzz your head

Cut off all the usless brackets
Spare tire
Hitch

Hood (fiberglass)
Spare Tire Crossmember Holds One Rear Shock Lol,,i Want To Remove The Washer Tank To Run A Dual Cold Air Intake.
Depends on how far you want to go. Seats, A/C, windows (use plexi-glass), etc.... I would start by telling Tyler's mom to get out, that weight loss will gain you close to a full second!! :spit:
lol man whos tyler?yall always bringing his moms up,thats mest up lol
Tyler the mustached pedofile........:naughty:
txarkitekt
rollpan
tailgate
spare tire
spare tire winch
jack/spare tire tools
skid plates

dump tail pipe after muffler
tow hooks

passenger seat
empty glove box (owners manual is worth a tenth :))
fender flares if you have them
no more than 1/4 tank of gas
Thats everything I have done. Hope to do Bogarts one of these days.
thats what im talkn bout
There are all kinds of extraneous brackets and trinkets to pull off but they might compromised safety so in the name of CYA please ask G and not me. :naughty:
Get on the floor and look under the truck and ask yourself in a tiny voice "Do I really need that?"....
frame horns?
Yes.
personally a run down the track isn't worth stripping your truck to me. if its not a full on drag truck fook it and just run what ya brung
strip the frame of undercoating, you can also swiss cut the frame. Fab up new cross members with aluminum or Titanium, swap seats out for light weight race seats, Gut the tailgate, loose the inner front fenders, loose rear brakes and parking brake set up. I'm sure there is more, how far you wanna go is the question.
or if you want serious weight reduction get another vehicle
weight reduction + full size truck =
if your wanting to go fast due to not weighing alot get a motorcycle or civic
i just removed the trans crossmember
get rid of the frame rails they weigh a ton.
for those that removed the spare crossmember...
(i have a body lift and spare hangs below bumper, it's ugly anyway and I want a fullsize mounted to my rollcage)
how did you remove it? It looks like it has to be cut out. How much did it weight? If it was an unbolt, put back to stock later, i'd do it for a 20lbs saving. If i have to permenantly cut it out...it better weight over 100lbs.
Thanks.
i removed mine. just remove it and through it in the bed, big rig
don't have pics do you? how much did it weight?
+1
Exactly what I was thinking. Its an effing truck for goodness sake. You wont be getting weight down by much if youre not willing to remove the gate and seats and other things. And to be honest add more power before you start worrying about removing weight. :twocents:
Clapped out Mazda B2200, that'd be a light truck
hey any weight reduction helps!!
