I'd say a cam with lots of topend, steep gears, big big stall converter, all the other bolt ons and mods and you can do it!
say 4.10's and 3400 stall good enough?
what do most n/a set ups run?say a full bolt on cammed 6.0?
That's not enough. 4000+, 4.56+ trans brake, huge cam and compression. It could happen :naughty:
I would say that its not too far away. Jons EC truck was 4555 lbs, and he ran a 12.2 N/A so if you were a reg cab of the make, you would be around 4000. So theoretically you would be .5 faster. 11.7 with jons low to mid 400's whp setup and a truck that has been stripped down to 3800 lbs. Then add the driver weight.
The biggest factor would be your 60ft.
damm thats badazz low 12's n/a,fastest n/a 6.0 ive seen was a 12.1 rcsb
If I changed to a L92 head with 11.0-1 compression and a good cam I think 11s on motor would be definately doable. Definately going to need atleast a 3600 stall to along with 4.10 gears.
i thought stewart ran 11s NA in an ext cab (txsilverado) am i wrong about that???
He went 12.12 NA in his LS1. He was close when he had the 5.3
i ran a best of 12.17 about a month ago, been running 12.8-12.3's for the last couple of weekends, head cam full bolt ons, in the heat, plans to hit 11's in the heat come next weekend or at lease a 12 flat run :) this is with full truck weight, just spare removed ( RCSB)
gonna need at lease a 4k stall ;) i run the l92 heads and truck intake, patiently waiting on the FAST which will be delivered the 30th of this month ( maybe )
na, that was me, stewart it on nitrous ;) i ran a best of 11.8 in my ecsb ;)
stew did run a 11.5 with a 150 shot though, and is knocking on the door of 11's NA
damm good to know,so ill be on the right track if get a 08' 6.0 with l92s already on it.ill just need the stall, custom grind.
i just cant seem to find a good deal on a 6.2,,ive already let like 3 6.0's walk pass me
im gonna wait a little more,if nuthin im jumping on a 6.0 L76
thanks for the input...
let me know when your ready for the ly6/l76 so i can check my connections for a good deal zach.
would it be possible on a RCSB 4wd??? (4wd launches)
Dink runs 12.3 on a 6.0.
Cam, 243s, 3k stall, in an OBS RCSS
I've ran a best of 12.2 NA
6.0; ported 799s; 23x cam; 3400 stall; 80E; 4.10s; comp 10.9-1
with a 175 shot, so far 11.40 and getting faster...still working out some bugs
so what would be better,,leave the l92 heads on the 6.0 or go with ported 243's?
key word : match!! i'd leave the heads on have the heads worked properly by a well known porter ;)
have the cam custom spected for you full application :) including intake!!
i thought the same ? so all this time i thought you were the fastest ECSB? but come to find out you were on the juice ? i always read 11.6 NA!!!
kinda makes me wish i would have hooked up the bottle to the ecsb before i did the swap to rcsb :( i would have busted off a 10 sec pass ;) or at lease came damn close to it !!!
if not mistaken it was allen who mentioned it, no biggy your truck still hauls ballz, and its a well respected truck, kinda wish i would have taken the time to get the full potiental out of mine, specially with the times i have ran, i had extended plans for it but then a RCSB fell into my lap lol!!! i know i could have went deep into the 11s NA.. but i guess i'll never know as of now :(
Thanks for the comps....my goal with it is hitting a 10.xx pass and still keep it a daily driven truck...I really think it is reachable with the setup it has right now. I gotta iron some things out after the 80e swap. I still have to use this thing as a work truck every once in a while too...LOL
so who can spec out cam, intake ,heads to match??i heard of pete incuado,,anyone else
Nelson Performance has someone they use....They spec'd mine
good!!thats all i needed to know.
pete incuado, or patrick g, patrick di my cam this go round, i think pete will do the next cam. :)
i have no doubt it wont go 10s, i know i would or could have , by the way i still run on the same 60e lol!!! good luck on your quest, hope to see ya make it!!
Jon could run hi 11's N/A and high 10's on the 175 shot if he would... replace the front 20's for lighter 15"-16" wheels, take out the back seat, take out the 1 of the 2 layers of carpet/insulation inside the cab, take out the 10" speakers/box/amp, and lay off the blizzards lol... seat, carpet, stereo stuff=300lbs. easy! And some good da for the N/A run also
Ok next time out to the track I will do all of the above...Plus I will ubolt the hidden reciever hitch in the back too.. Thats good for atleast 50lbs....I really want to do as is though...I'm not trying to be the one that gutted everything to run a certain time...Plus this is a show truck not a drag truck...:spit:
We need to find you some front wheels too. You said the offset on the ones I gave you were not right? or did they just need the right tires? Not only will getting you into 11's NA be cool, But if you hit 11's NA, 10's on spray will be that much easier. You better call me when you plan on this, I wanna be there for it.
I have two steelie 16s laying around if you want them jon
Thats just the fun part of it...:naughty:
The offset on the rims is way too wide...they would stick out 3'' past the fenders LOL....I need to find some stock 95 aluminum 5 spoke wheels...
Sorry ducky, I'm looking for alum.....Thanks though
FINE ill take my rims elsewhere
