BCS vs. Playoff

When will college get rid of this system of number crunching and let the teams settle it on the field. How does the #1 team drop to #5 after a 10 point loss in the Nat. Championship game? If they are voted #1 and they lose, shouldn't they back their decesion to put them in the NC game and put them at #2? How does the only undefeated team like Utah finish #2? Florida's loss at home to Ole Miss is far worse than USC's loss at Oregan St.? A playoff would leave NO school with anyone to blame but themselves if they lose. You have playoffs in POP Warner football for heavens sake, High School Football, And in the NFL... every league has playoffs except College. Discuss?

How the hell did Texas get bumped down a spot to #4 and Utah come all the way up to #2 and where did Tech go they arent even in the top 10? I am all for Florida being #1...this is all fubared up!

The BCS can shove it up their ass. Ive hated the system since it first came out.

I think BCS is ridiculous too. The NCAA is basically wanting to make student athletes be "winners". This is college, your gonna have to realize that if your not the best out there, then you will lose.

Too much $$$ involved, plus I think it is in place until 2012 or something like that.

The media loves Florida and the Timmy Tebow story... and that's what it's all about. The best story is who the media shoves in everyones face 24/7... and they do it in Politics as well but we aren't allowed to talk about that here. Anyways... Yes, the BCS has failed again! USC, Utah, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Boise State, Penn State, Alabama, and Florida all deserved to be in that national championship game. A playoff system would generate MORE money than the current system would, so you have to rule that one out for being the reason not to ditch the BCS. I hope the Utah politician investigates the BCS system and drags into the supreme court to get rid of it.

Lick a ball sack Dave. I bet and cheered for the Gators only because they were playing one of the teams I hate most (right along with Tech). Don't get me wrong, I don't like ANY Florida team. I didn't want Florida to win any games this year--and LOVED it when Ole Miss beat them!!! But anyway, I had to default and go with Florida. Plus, since cash-money was on the line, I had to go with the team I KNEW would win.

But yeah, we really don't need to go into how bad the BCS scoring system sucks. I can't figure out how O Who jumped spots to gain the #1 ranking to get the bid to be in the Championship game. Neither do I understand why USC and Utah eventually outranked Texas. Ok, yeah--the Utes went undefeated. Whooptie FREAKIN doo. What was their schedule? And how easy is that crap conference they are in????? Any of the top 10 teams would have gone undefeated in the Mountain West. And USC...whatev. Yes, they are a good team, but come on--the PAC 10? They do have only 2 legitimate teams--Oregon and Oregon State. But still, most of the BIG VII South teams would have beat both of them.

Oh well, we all will never understand the BCS bullshyt. all we can do is sit back and watch our favorite teams play...

A playoff system needs to be implemented I think this year has been the most screwed up year for the BCS yet, and its not just because Im a Texas fan. Utah is not even in the same class they should have been lucky to be in the top 5, in all honest I think it should have been florida, texas, ou, alabama, usc, utah. Im honestly not so sure Texas would have beaten Florida but those are the two teams who should have been in the championship game. Im just glad stoops and that fag of qb they have lost.:beerchug:

utah is a hell of a team, they should have been in the title game they would have done a better job playing florida than OU did!!, they did beat alabama and everyone knows the SEC is strong compared to the BIG 12

That was a joke right? Utah is in no way in the same caliber as UT, OU, Florida or even Tech, the Big 12 conference is the strongest out there, the SEC is a has been. Alabama was fluke as far as being #1, they did not deserve that spot, their team was not a #1 team. OU actually played Florida pretty good up until the last quarter then they fell apart, UT wouldve played them better, maybe even USC, but for damn sure not Utah.:LOL:
