so, wich one is better for me?
Thanks man!
What are your goals? Towing power? Best ET?
you should buy my polished one its the best all around blower for the money
its capable of lower 12s high 11s
lower my ET's... Holy cow!! Midnight, wich one are you talking about? are you talking about 122?? or 112?? Thats what Im talking about... those kind of numbers.. I have the lts and ory on the garage.. I might get the maggie, then a cam, then a tranny.. then install goes on..
I Got The 112 On My 4.8 And It Suprised Me :)
He is talking about his polished 112. I personally helped install the unit and most of the other supporting mods--and it is a nice unit. Jason is only wanting to sell his 112 to get a 122HH model. There is nothing wrong with his 112. It is a beautiful unit being polished--and it comes with 2 different pulleys... Of course with the Maggie, you will need the supporting mods--valve springs (PRCs), hardened pushrods--which can be ordered in a package deal from Texas Speed with the cam kit. I would recommend a specific FI cam with a 115 LSA. Along with the cam kit, you will definitely need some gauges--I would recommend an Aeroforce gauge and a wideband. And you will also need to get a Walbro 255 l/ph fuel pump for it--his come with both types of fuel systems--and it currently has the returnless--which you have already--so bolting his MAggie to your truck would be a relatively painless process. Since you already have some add-ons to your tranny now, it should hold up for a little while after putting the cam and Maggie on...but you will need a transmission that will be able of handling that power.
how much power do you think I will be getting out of that setup that you just mentioned?
its fully capable of 500+ rwhp if donr properly tyler and danny were there for my install and have been a huge help with getting the blower right i have spared no expense and have a fast reliable setup i also get 20-22 mpg out of boost highway
They both are 3 lobe compressors I believe. Difference is displacement, the amount of air pumped. The 112 is not maxed out at 8-9lbs but rather it's efficiency is a certain rpm of the blower. I make an easy 10lbs with a 3" snout pulley.
The bolt on kit is complete and will start you out with ~5lbs boost. No other mods are needed.
wow i know you from pt.net im rather shocked that you dont know better
on our stock trucks the best he will see out of a 112 is 8-9 i have one i know
and the 122only comes in high helix and is a 4 lobe compressor. please do more research so you dont confuse this guy and kill my sell
if i am wrong I will chock it up to old age but I am pretty sure the TVS (Gen VI) is 4 lobe and the gen V (112/122) is only 3 lobe but I will check with Magnuson in the morning for ya.
Maybe you should do some research of your own :) by the way let me reiterate I am making 10+lbs with a 3" pulley. I lost boost freeing up the exhaust with headers.

negative, the MP122HH is considered an evolution of the 5th gen if I'm not mistaken, a high helix 3 lobe setup displacing 2.0L. The R1900 1.9L is of the newest designs (6 gen I believe), 4 lobe, even higher helixQuote:

about the lobes? A supercharger is nothing more than an air compressor, shoving air into your manifold/cylinders. A 112 compressor is good for an engine up to and including 6.0, anything larger should go with the 122 or a Gen VI TVS unit of which there are 2, the 1900 and 2300.
I have a 112 and do just fine with it, probably pushing it just past it's peak efficiency range but it works to push my 5300lb truck into the mid 11's. :thumb:
If anything he is helping your sell. Why buy a 122 for more money when he can buy your 112 (polished) and get pretty much the same boost out of it. I was personally involved in taking a 112 off and putting a 122 on and that truck (6.0L) didn't gain any boost. Yeah yeah, he changed cams, but unless you can get a 122 for the same price or cheaper...I'd just do a 112. You can almost get a better deal on a 112. Just my 4cents. (inflation and trying to cover my losses in the market)
Trever1t is correct, they are both high helix but the MP122 is 3 lobe 60 degree and the TVS is 4 lobe. They didn't go 4 lobe until the TVS.
Well, like it is mentioned below, with the supporting mods, you can achieve over 500+ hp. But you will need a smaller pulley, a meth kit, cam, valvetrain, properly sized injectors, etc. It isn't a horrible idea if you had your stock heads cleaned up and had a 5-angle valve job done. When you spec your cam, make sure it is slightly intake biased--(for a 5.3L) something like a 220/218 .581/.563 115 LSA. I am by no means a cam spec pro, but something in that range is what I would spec for my own truck.
Yeah, Jason's truck is very reliable and with his 3.42 gears, he does get decent mpgs on the highway...
