So what do you think and who's getting one?
I am for sure!
Ive already got three..
Nah I know this is never going to happen but I wish GM would come out with a new series of cars that will dominate for decades like the LS1/fbody cars did.
Better get on the waiting list, its gonna b awhile. G8's are nasty too for a 4 door, 361 HP. Sure i will get made fun of, but the new challengers are pretty slick. Cheaper and already on the streets. Only one model for 08 but 3 models in 09. Ok, now let me have it.
Brooke already gave me the OK, when are they getting here.... i need a black one to go with my trucks....lol
I would even take the v6 one.
There really isn't a waiting list, you can order them. Check this site out there are a few dealers on there an they have tons of info on there. Pics an stats.

I want one but the wait is killing me.
i was really wanting to get one but im not buying a car that my truck outruns, plus it'll be fun to smoke em in a pickup ahahhah. Really though if i didnt have a truck payment id probably go finance the SS model of course
I'd still like to see one in person first. I liked the way the original pictures of the concept but I know they changed it since then.
My Moms Looking Into Getting A New Vehicle Soon,im Trying To Convince Her To Go For The Camaro, but She Wants A New Denali :)
The worst thing about a 98 (or almost any F-car) is the body. What flimsy cars they are.
I think the new one is weird looking. What will the 2015 car look like....a 1971 Camaro? Retro has run its course.
Look at the pricing too....and expect most of the 1st half of the new ones to not only be loaded and expensive, but also have premiums added to the price. It wouldn't surprise me to see $5-10K added for no other reason but because they'll be in short supply for a while. After 2-3 years, the lots will be glutted with them...LOL...just like the SSR and GTO.
My $0.02
I would just buy a 6 cyl. cause I know it would just get worked anyway... built motor, turbo'd, powerglide, suspension, tubbed, yada yada
Also, from what I have read, the base V6 car with the 3.6L DI motor and the 6 speed manual won't be a slouch. 0-60 in ~6 secs and low 14 sec 1/4 mile time. But yeah, there will be bugs to work out with this car--but GM actually took their time doing this one, hoping to work all of the crap out by delaying the production slightly... But we will see...
I'd take one if I didn't have a car I already liked.
Tell me about it, I had a '98 Z28, hated it, lol, but I like the others, I think it had something to do with being the first ones out.
GM has really made a point to make this Camaro perform, in styling, performance and interior, I don't think it'll be an issue if you order the first year.
I'll have to actually order mine, I like the SS model, comes with larger 14" brakes, HID's, trim, etc. Looks cool.
Mine will definitely be an auto, whatever model I get.
Dude the challengers are 60k...my buddy wanted one but the price was 20k higher for the challenger so he got the srt8 charger....and yes the G8's are quick....the ones in Australia are killers..(helps that they dont have all the emissions crap from the factory)
Yea, I doubt there will be very many "first year bugs" They have been perfecting this car since 2004. I think there might be a few things but its been 5 years of work, research, testing and a lot of money spent trying to make this car perfect. My dad might get one.
There will be on in my driveway for sure. Allen your gonna need a one to mock up a turbo kit on right?
I do not want a 3950 pound car with a 425hp motor.. Damn my truck is close to 4000 pounds and its already paid for. Im with fat boy on this one. I'll just keep my old truck and kick some sport car ass...
If I wasnt such a poor college student I would totally buy one!
The 69 Camaro is my favorite car ever, so I think I would buy one of those before I bought a new one....but thats just me being me as always.
And I agree, I doubt they will have many bugs when they come out. They have spent TOO much time perfecting it to release it prematurely, and with bugs.
Yep, I'm going to have one in my garage. I've been waiting 10 years to get one and it's time!
I thought long and hard about buying one. However, I just keep picturing it like it was in the last camaro run. Everywhere you looked there was a camaro. Thats why I bought the 68. Not to mention the investment standpoint. why buy an asset that is guaranteed to lose $$$ and be seen on every corner in 2 years.
Thats not an asset its a liability lol
Sadly, I really don't like the new Camaro's. I think the Challenger is a MUCH better looking car and I really prefer the look of the old camaros and trans ams over the new camaro. Like some say it looks too bulky and judging from what slimsilverado said, it is bulky
im with the guys that say they are gonna be everywhere, just like the "new" mustangs, if it was an exclusively v8 ss model or something then maybe, but i have a rcsb that dosent weigh that much more than that sports car, and it just feels good outrunning cars that are supposed to be sports cars in my truck:naughty:
and then they just look at you like:confused:
I disagree. My 68 SS396 Chevelle was a much bigger car than a new Camaro and weighed 3780 with a 1/4 tank of fuel and the iron head and intake 350 HP 396. It was a THM400 with buckets, console, AC, and P/S. It still had 4 wheel drums and steel wheels when I weighed it.
The new V8 Camaro will be AT LEAST 4000 pounds....complete with a bunch of price busting options most people into performance won't want.
Ever weighed a new style GTO or SSR? People don't understand why the SSR's were so slow stock until they weigh one and then factor the huge wheels and poor gear ratio.
for sure. chevy made a ****load of camaros in the 67-69 era. they WERE everywhere. i justwasn't there to see it so it doesn't count (to me). lol
What does a 6-speed 2006 SSR run? 14.70?
The 04 is 5.7 350 horse and the 05-06 is 6.0 400 horse.
Correct. Go find an 03. There's four on eBay.
