Newbie, hope to learn from the experienced

Hey fellows, newbie to the forum, don't know anyone form here except one member, have some questions that you all might be able to point me in the right direction, I drive a 99 GMC that currently had 4.8 to 6.0 swap, trans rebuilt with TCI cluthces , band and seals, Trans-go shift kit, 3.73 lsd factory carrier, and Nelson Perfomance custom tuned Pcm, run good for stock motor truck, but plan to make it a little faster, main focus is on my 78 malibu project, working on a 496 BBC planning to put down 650-750 hp on motor, and an extra 250 shot of nitrous, maybe 10 in the 1/4 hopefully. I work in tha automotive industry, fix cars and trucks for a living, and bolt on mods when needed, I have a boss that's a gear-head and that I get to do all his mods. Next project is his 5.3 to 6.0 LQ9 conversion, should run fast, see in a couple of weeks, well hope to hear from anyone interested, and hope to be helpful as well.

your malibu should dip into the 9's with nitrous.

Thanks for the welcome to the forum, I really appreciate the response from everyone that responded, I'm trying to build both my GMC and my malibu at the same time, but it doesnt take much to spend alot of money when starting up new projects, I built, finished and sold my last project, had 93 Z28, 355 forged internals, CC306 cam, all edelbrock, from heads up too, all adjustable suspension and eibach springs, customed tuned due to being speed density and all the bolt ons available, 6-speed built trans,and it only ran 13.0 109 all motor and 12.0 at 122 on 150 shot on e.t streets, I spent to much for so little at the end. If you look on my public profile you'll see one of the pics of my malibu, I would post more of the inside and out but I'm just starting to figure out how to post message and pics, so bear with me..

Hey man---welcome to LS1truck! Good to have ya--nice looking truck BTW! :thumb: Got a few bolt ons now...but there is still room for some extras. :) You need a bigger TB, E-fans, Longtube headers, no cats, cam, valve springs, etc. SO much left on the table for that 6.0L!

Yeah, 13 flat in the quarter is not that quick for all you had into that Z28, but then again, it was only a LT1 car. These LS motors respond to mods 10X better. You can get into the 13's in your truck on motor if you add those extra mods I listed above--along with a good tune.

It did 1.97 60 ft on E.T streets 16 X 10.5, and was spinning too, I know there are so many things to do, I built a truck at work for a buddy of mine, 2001 Silverado extended cab,swapped the 4.8 for LQ4 6.0, swapped to some dart heads with aftermarket pushrods, 4L80E conversion with Nelson harness, I modified the trans cross member, driveshaft specialist custom HD drivesahft, hooker ceramic coated long tube headers with off-road y-pipe, magnaflow 3 " catback exhaust, 85mm tb with ported intake and granetelli Maf, .588/.588 lift compcam, 1.7 roller rockers, Nelson tune, 4.10 with auburn LSD, 150 N/X shot of juice, ran 13.3 all motor, 12.1 on juice on e.t streets, it also had pulleys, G.M. eletric fans and Msd coils with the controller, but it cost him a pretty penny, hope to get near his gains, but will take me time since I'm juggling two projects, my tow rig (the GMC) and the malibu, once again thanks for your responses and I really happy to be part of the forum...
