who makes a great electric fan kit for my 2000 silverado let me know, thanks
Im using some e-fans from an ls1 camaro with the nelson performance harness. Trick performance products which is a sponsor on here makes a real sick setup that looks awesome
low99 lemme kno if you do that setup cause i have a 2000 silverado too and it was one of the things im thinking about
i have a 99 and i went with the ls1 fans like ducky did with the nelson harness, cheapest and easiest setup ive seen, i love the way they operate. Im just gonna up my alternator to the 145 because ive noticed sometimes at a stop light with the A/C on full blast and the stereo on it dips to like 12.8v so, no biggie but thats alot of strain on the battery. I spent a total of 200 on my setup, bolted it to the existing fan holes using the existing fan hardware, they work great, they are pretty quiet too.
well sounds great were do you go to the junk yard for fans, and off what year camaro and also you said the wiring harness is how much for that, and does it come with everything for kit and thermostat also ,let me know do want to do this set up for sure thanks guys

This is what I have and it is super simple. Hook up power and ground and 1 ac wire and thats it. It works really well. My ac blows colder than it ever has and I have tested the crap out of it. I let my truck run for several hours while dragging logs around with not even a hint of over heating. No excess wires relays etc etc.
i got my ls1 fans off of a 2001 camaro SS, they were 100 with shipping off of ebay, the nelson harness was like 100 with shipping. and then you have to get ur pcm programmed so that the pcm can control the fans. i like it. i havent seen any mpg gain or loss, because the motor seems to rev up a lot faster so i cant keep my foot out of it. On a good day in the city i saw like 2mpg more but other than that hwy im still around 19/17.5 and city seeing 10 to 14 so it just depends how much you want to spend and how you want them to work really. i have pictures if you want to see how they bolted up
yes lets see pics
ya post some pics. and any performance gains besides revving faster?
I put my fans in during the swap from 5.3 to 6 so I could not tell. Milage is suppose to be from 0.5 mpg to 3 mpg better. I can't tell.
I am looking at doing this upgrade with the Nelson wiring harness. I was just wondering what controls the fan turn on points? I know with a stock e-fan setup the fan settings would be in the PCM.
ok heres what i got. LS1 fans from a 2001 camaro SS. I used 3 1" by 1/4" stainless bolts, washers, and nylock nuts. And for the mounting brackets i used 12 gauge stainless steel and i believe they are 3/4" wide by 3.5" long. turned out pretty good, took me about 2 hours to get everything off cleaned up and then back on. i have more pics if anyone wants em i can send em to your email.

ya the pcm controls the fan speed and when they come on and for how long based on the coolant temps it sees i believe. the nelson harness was super easy to install as well. just that dam green wire for the A/C that took me two tries to find, but oh well.
Nicely done, thanks for the pics!
I will have to look at the PCM fan settings after I get my HP Tuner.
Will the the fans from a camaro fit in a 28 inch rad?
ya thats what i have is the 28" radiator.
How much was it all together?
anyone know the CFM the stock ls1 fans put out?
it was 100 for fans, with shipping, 100 for the nelson harness, and i had my pcm tuned at the same time which was 375. is not bad. i can garuntee that the electric fans put out wayyyyy more air flow than the stocker. in the summer if i am idling and walking near the truck and the fans come on, i can feel the heat they are pushing out of the engine bay
just pick up some 14 inch fans for my truck from one of my friends that work for performance auto fan manufacturing company ,if anyone needs some fans let me know, i can get them for a cheap price,i will post pictures of fans being installed and the fan housing i am going to make also for the radiator, pics comming soon .:cowl:
that fan kit looks great, are those 14 inch fans you used on your truck, also notice that it drop your temp down alot, how's the truck run with the kit on it
Low99 im interested please let me know when you get a price and some pics.
btw probably the best setup out right now is the one mister p and danny have been producing for a month or two but its for the 34 inch radiators... here's a few pics:

nice set up,how much for kit, also fits 34 inch radiator is that normal size for all silverado's do they make one for 28 inch radiator's also .i have not measure mine yet just wondering ,thanks for all the info on everything,it's nice to know what's out there.
,,cost on fans are $90.00 on both plus shipping on them and the thermal probe is 49.99,there great they work on temp on there own, a stand alone unit, not bad each fan moves 2150 cfm so not bad, also have 600 watt motor and run great ,he uses them on pro stock car he races and also on truck that pull race trailer, all iam going to do is make my own shroud for them out of 1/8 inch aluminum and cross break it and bend some 90% ends and add some high temp rubber on ends for setting against radiator real easy ,let me know if anyone is interested in some the company make alot of fans for summit and more :yippee:
i have extra set of fans comming ,let me know if your interested in some, also thanks,,http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...blade-2002.jpg
