Your duty cycle on your injectors may be maxed out already and putting that on there will guaranty a lean condition if your injectors aren't large enough. Make some WOT runs and see what your current duty cycle is running at. Let us know.
What do I think about the setup?
I think I need one as an cooler for the turbo system thats my birthday present to myself before my birthday.
You should get one to.
yep yep ...duty cycle will be to much...hell it prob already is even without the shot...dry shots are just as safe as a wet all you need to do is make sure you spray through the MAF and pull some timing out of the chart like i will show you later when i look at you file
why not get a wet shot Dale?
Ide Say Go For It!
If I had to do it all over again I would do a wet shot with its own fuel system, like a small fuel cell in the bed full of race gas.
Thats what I did. Could have been neater but definitely not cheaper. A lot of nitrous companies have compact setups, a lot better than mine but this is what I threw together using what was laying around.

Virgil has a sweet setup...but i dont have that kind of cash to throw around....I just want a little extra...nothing big... Greg does too...I forgot about your setup again buddy
+1 on redheartbeats setup.
just cause you have a wet shot doesnt mean boom...you can go boom with a dry shot also....Dale would actually be better to run a wet setup...it would use less duty cycle on his injectors by pulling from the rail..
And thank you Dale...both me and Red love our nitrous and put some good money in them
Your welcome Virgil!Im still looking...I may look into a small wet shot setup, possibly used...just dinkin around.Dad offered me his new Denali truck for 30k...58500.00 new and has 4500 miles on it...but i will have to sale my truck.I honestly dont think i could sale my baby!AWD 6.2 with a tune and a 300 shot would be a bad MOFO!
damn it!!!! i need NOS. Dale's to close to me already, he gets spray and im done
i have seen a nitrous backfirs on a dry shot and it didnt catch fire...but boy have you ever seen these intakes explode....
And i know how to tune for a dry shot....you go to the lower level of you main spark tables and pull timing from lets say on mine it would be .70 grams and up...there is also another table that looks at temp vs amount of air vs air temp...you can have it pull timing that way...when it sees air under a certain temp coming through the MAF then it pulls timing.
Also running the dry shot his duty cycle will increase by a good amount...a wet shot off the rail will just up it by about 10%
but what do i know
Remember..im looking for an easy cheap setup
Do larger injectors first though.
RPM has a car they spray a 400 dry shot in but its got huge injectors.
sure is cheap when you spend $400 on a kit and $250 on a set of injectors to go along with it then the 40 min install involves a littel more work...i am by no shot arguing with a dry shot...i know tons of people running both a wet and dry setup or dual dry setups...i ran a dry for a while myself...i just like the plate kit and how much harder it hits over a dry shot
Don't you know street racing is illegal?:burnrub:
lol but on a dry shot just roll with the bottle full and the tune will pick it up...why do you think i always have the nitrous tune in...i have no clue what my truck really does on motor
i agree...Dale already needs injectors...when he did the cam he should have done injectors...i just like posing arguements...helps me learn more in the end...also a wet kit can be installed just as fast as the dry same wires and buttons...just have to take out the scrhader valve...i told Dale he should run a dry kit in Waco...actually i still have mine setup to run a dry shot...3 stages FTMFW!!...i kid i kid
oh and the nice plate kit from Nitrous Outlet was only $699 when i bought it...came with purge and the bigger solenoids :D
Dale you got stock inj? I have a set of 42 or 48lbs that will be for sale in a month or so. ;)
True, but we don't have to build a complete engine, exhaust and intake system to get up and going, just bolt a few items on, maybe adjust the timing a little and zoom, away we go. :thumb: A simple dry or wet shot can be done on a stock engine. We'll install our nitrous systems and be across the US by the time you get your turbo install done.
Yeah it is. The engine was built to handle 500 HP sprays of nitrous should I choose to do that. It was built to run N/A. My kit can be switched over to a stock engine in a matter of hours and be zooming down the road again. :thumb:
Nitrous isn't expensive. Costs me $12 a fill for 10 lbs of nitrous. A fill kit to transfer from the mother bottle to 10lb bottle is the cost of a 12" -4 nitrous line. Bathroom scale weighs the bottle.
Yeah, I've had turbocharger have a catastrophic failure and destroy an entire engine too. Can't complain about a non-parasitic HP boost device though. Bad part is that most engines truly built for boost are dogs minus the turbo.
Yeah, that's why mine runs about 500 HP at the crank, sub 8.0 1/8 mile runs. I can't complain since thats through cats and all.
Who builds nitrous motors with low base power? That doesn't make any sense. They put spray on engines with 15:1 compression.
Heck, ill just get out an push for you Dale. hehe
LMAO!ive spent 5k in just tires for my truck since ive had it...not including all the other crap....why are we adding up the cost of stuff for the truck when all I ask was about a GodDamned dry shot! WTF!
Sounds like someone is trying to justify their expenditures? I'm on the payment plan myself, weekly installments
Me Too!
who says i spin...my street tires hook just fine...good enough for a 1.60 60'
your sig says you have a 408 with all the turbo and stuff...and i do know the limits of a stock block and what i can accomplish with this motor...i know i wont hit 10's but i do know i will hit mid to low 11's and have less in the truck then you have in the turbo setup...i do however have a set of twin hp64's waiting for when i do blow this motor
but it all goes back to what do i know about nitrous :D
Lmao! Too far north for us buddy!
OMG, Grabber's got Quik's account password and is posting theoretical magazine specs again.
I had to upgrade my noids. Bought a .125 nitrous noid good for 600RWHP. The fuel noid was already good for 500HP. My plate is only good for 400 so I think I'm safe for a while.
funny cause the track in OK where i went 11.88 they were saying the times were slow also...heard i should really be a lil faster
