Does anybody know the max ithe 5.3 can be bored out to? I know you can go to the 5.7 and use LS1 internals is this the max?

you cant safely go more than 3.90. It is a different casting than the 6.0, so it will not take the 4.0 bore.
yeah, i heard that you shouldnt go beyond 5.7 because of the thickness of the cylinder walls

somewhere on here the is a write up by someone (Allen i think) that shows where you can turn a 5.3 into a 383 stroker

383 out of a 5.3 block would be bored to 3.905(stand LS1 over-bore) with 4" stroke crank as opposed to the standard 3.6
