All I can say is dam! That sh*t is good. As you all know I had an oil bath in the intake again and got it all cleaned out again. The motor had burned some of the oil, so I used the Sea foam in a tank of gas and man it smoothed out the motor to where you can't even feel it idling. This motor has a 220/220 .581//.581 on a 115 cam so almost no lope. The motor sounds stock at idle.

I will second that... I use Seafoam every now and then, and I actually funnel some into a vacuum line with that leads to the intake so that it can clean it out. I don't use the whole bottle, of course, but about a 1/3. It does work wonders!
I need to use some of that shit on my engine. I tried a lucas additive, and it worked, but I wanna get it real clean

im a firm beleaver in seafoam. when we had the heads off of my LS1 i decided i wanted to clean the carbon buld up off of the pistons a little. put carb cleaner on one piston and it didnt do jack. poured a lil seafoam on another and that stuff started coming off in chunks!
Ah, it white-smokes for a good 3-5 minutes as you slowly add the Seafoam to the vacuum line. After you reconnect the line, it should stop for the most part, but I would recommend driving it pretty hard around the block to get rid of it all... :)
I may need to do that to my intake as well.

I don't think it will smoke going through the fuel. When you put it in the intake & let it sit, it cleans out all the deposits on heads/pistons/intake.
Through the tank does the same thing over a longer period of time.
sea foam=:rock: i usually suck up 1/3 of a bottle through the vacuum line, pour the rest in the oil, and throw another bottle in a full tank...smoke show for sure. only thing i would make sure and do is change the oil w/ in a 200+- mile range.
My intake is brand new, and the top of the heads were pretty clean when I pulled the valve covers. So I should just stick to running it through the gas right?Quote:

Like dguerra said, you can put it anywhere, but if you put it on your oil, make sure you put it in RIGHT BEFORE an oil change. SeaFoam is magic...pretty much! :) Another way to clean out a gasoline motor...fun a SMALL, SMALL amount of diesel fuel in it at idle for about 2-3 minutes. I used this process on all of my mowing equipment back in the day... It was the easiest way to tune up my 4-stroke motors...
I bought some yesterday and put it in my tank....feels like I picked up and extra 300 horses:eek:....guess now i am at 650 rwhp..LOL
used it many times. Sometimes a very noticable difference, sometimes barely noticable.
My most recent Seafoam was this weekend and I must say this time yielded the most noticable results ever. I used 3/4 of a can directly into the intake of the noisy rattleing engine in my wife's 4.0 Jeep and 1/4 can in the tank. Let it set all night, drove it the next day, big smoke show, yadda yadda. Man, that stuff made a night and day difference, it runs smooth and seems to have a bit more peep. I am very pleased and will probably follow up with another treatment soon.
With the amount of positive feedback that Seafoam is getting on this site, they should be a sponsor... Mods--forward this post to their marketing division and see if they will sponsor us... :)
I saw you can buy this by the gallon...course it was about 45 bucks or so but hey if you are addicted go for it.

Did a SeaFoam job on my DD (Honda Accord 2dr.) this weekend. I used a whole can--dumped 1/2 while at idle, then let the other 1/2 of the can soak for 15 minutes...After starting it, it looked like I had just done a dragster burnout in the driveway for 10 minutes! I then had to drive it around for 10 minutes for it all to burn off... BUT it does have a smoother idle, has better pick up, and I swear it's faster...hehe LOL.
After reading this, I am going to get some of this tonight and try it out on the 06 and see for myself. The truck has always not seemed to idle quite right for me, so I am going to give this a go and see if it does help it out.
I will post the results.
ducky your motor is already clean:D. maybe run some through your gas but theres no need to do the top or bottom end for about 20k miles.
haha I know but remember how big of an idiot I was when I told you how I kept the motor lubricated, (squirtin oil in the spark plug holes as well as every other orfice on that engine, then spinning it)? Well that just got me worried, especially after I trashed both front 02 sensors. Im just a clean freak when it comes to wanting everything on the inside to be spotless. I want to pull my 4.3 apart and see how clean/dirty that thing was, I kept up with it quite a bit as far as running stuff through it to clean it.
that oil was burnt out within the first 30 mins of running i would guess. dont sweat it.
yeah it was a pretty good smoke show for a while after I first cranked it.
Which vacuum line do I use to get the seafoam into the intake to sit overnight. I plan to put about 1/4-1/2 can in the intake, then the rest in the fuel tank, I just need to know which line is best to get the stuff to all the runners?
Any vacuum line will do, but I would go buy a tiny, little funnel to put into the vacuum line so you don't dump that crap everywhere... I think the vacuum line coming from the brake booster is the largest--I would use that one...
I used the brake booster vac line, and a small funnel. I SLLOOOWWLY poured a 1/4 of the bottle at idle, and the motor wanted to stumble, and of course it ran like crap with that big vacuum line off, then I switched off the enngine and let it sit. I poured the rest in the tamk, it was a pint can, is that that size you guys are using?
No noticable smoke, just a little that cleared up fast, and no real improvement in the idle, I want it smoooth, so I guess I am gonna get another can.

Yes, it will try and stumble around, but if your pour a little but very slowly, it should stay alive. You should have poured the rest into the vacuum line. I usually try and get a straw and put it inside the vacuum line and blow most of it through the tube and into the intake a little bit...that disperses it... Then let it sit in here for 10 or 15 minutes--or even over night. Then when you start it, make sure your windows are up, and let it idle for a while... It will white smoke like no other!!! You may have to go drive around for about 5-10 minutes to get everything out. You can put it in the gas tank. It will work fine--it mixes with the fuel and cleans out the fuel lines, injectors, and the combustion chamber...
Well after bending the #8 rod just enough to allow the piston to touch the counterweight of the crank, I swap it out with another 5.3L
I will only put this stuff in the oil for a change, or the fuel tank, but NEVER again in the intake, I believe it puddles somewhere in the intake, and then you crank it and it all goes into one cylinder and walla, a nice knocking sounds is emitting from the engine.
