will LS7 heads bolt on a 6.0 block & reuse LQ9 accessories?
yes, they should bolt on, however you will need an ls7 intake manifold and fuel rails etc. really way overkill
Also you'll destroy any low speed power you have due to the volume of the runner and the intake valve diameter.
not really any loss that you will notice, most tests show 10-15rwtq losses down low over setups formerly with LS1/LS6 heads. and all that could be changed with a different manifold with properly sized plenum and/or runners.
With his forced induction it may not be any issue at all.
Get your shopping buggy ready for heads, 8 new rockers, not sure if you need different pushrods but don't know for sure, L76 or L92 intake complete with fuel rails, injectors and throttle body. Surely you can transfer your current injectors to the new fuel rail.
Thanks for the info guys. That is way more involved than I want. I will get my heads reworked, or get some Patriots or something.
SC the chamber are to small. They are like 35cc. Try the L92 heads,I think hey are like normal 6.0L heads on the cc size.
Jamest
Depends if you're staying forced induction or not.
your best bet for a direct fit with no hassle is something like a Livernois Stage 1 or 2 head. Very bad ass heads with lots of research in them. I think you can get them in a 67cc chamber. If you are building a new motor anyways just have the builder get the correct piston to accomidate the slightly smaller chamber
I bet he stays FI. I miss it soooo much. It gets ahold of you and won't let go. I think about it all the time. Enough ranting! :bash:
i hear ya, there is no way i'd drive a truck everyday without a turbo, they are just so addicting. i don't even have to floor the av anymore, just half throttle, full boot and it pulls you right past everyone.
ok, back on track lol,
ya, FI is great!
It will go back FI, I am just not sure when.
I am looking at staying with the 72CC heads, the modified 6.0L heads or something like that.
stay around 9.5 cr and you can have a strong engine , then when it's time for a blower, you'll be ready, even 10 cr is fine for a forged engine.
SC, give Richard at WCCH a call he has a nice set of stage II 317s for 1300 with dual springs that flow very well and he knows his shit. He got all my problems lined out on my motor but I went with his edelbrock heads so I can really boost the shit out of it.
