No kidding. You cant expect good mileage driving like that. I get 19+ cruising at 72-73.
honestly i drive like and old man most of the time, as for a tune i have one of those preditors with a e85 tune but i very rarely use e85 i suppose my tires could be one of the problems 10 plys but for sure most of the time i drive like an oldman. was thinking about replacing the gears with 4.56s i know that this won't help with milage but i would help turning those heavy tires
Wow i think you need a custom tune to replace that e85 tune which has got to be killing your mileage. If you rarely use it then its not helping you any. Some gears would help but 4.56's? That will kill your highway mileage if your doing more than 70ish. I guess your tire size is important how big are they? Also looks like you have some big daddy rims too thats no help.
The e85 tune is the issue. E85 requires about 1.5x the fuel. I imagine with a real tune you could get that mileage back up to around 15-16. You're probably running pig rich.
4.56 is too big of a gear for highway speeds. I'm running 36's and I don't like driving above 75 because the R's are so high. 3.73's are a little low for city driving, but are better for highway. 4.10's would probably be ideal if you do mixed driving, but not worth the money to swap.
I'm actually going to agree with plyboy....ditch the e85 tune. His guy casey does pretty good work, or contact Nelson.
I will have to look into a new tune was actually thinking about it. oleshifty what kind of R's are you hitting at 75? Was only looking into gears because I pull a 28 foot enclosed with a car inside once in awhile and 4.56's made since. About how much would a nelson tune be? depending on what i wanted?
think nelson is 300...casey is cheaper (i believe)
with my 35's I'm turning 2k at 65...think its closer to 2600 at 75
I normally keep cruise at 70 and I'm fine. When I had my 3.73 gears, I just used tow-haul and never had a problem. With the 4.56, I can pull quite a bit without downshifting up hills on highway, even without the tow-haul.
