Meh, decent numbers Jay. :yawn: But that thing has a lot left in it. Since you've got everything running fine, now its just down to time spent tuning. I say you can easily get to the magical 500 rwhp mark with your setup. Your CR is waaaay low--and I am with George--you can get away with some more timing...especially when running meth.

Jay--if I was you--I would become good friends with George cause he knows his crap when it comes to tuning hair dryers. :thumb: Since your mechanics are in place and the tuning is left, he can help you out a lot since you now have HPT.

Oh, and get a damn DS loop. That second gear pull is more or less false. To get correct numbers, you need to be making 3rd gear pulls with your converter locked. But your power curve sure does look nice! I bet your track numbers will be better than you expect.

ive seen a 100 hp gain on a turbo vehicle from dynoing 2nd then going right to 3rd with no change in tune

many dyno shops will not allow you to spin their dyno up to 140 mph in third gear if you don't have speed rated tires and a driveshaft loop. Can't say that I don't blame them. :slice:

thats a good point. but id rather have a tire blow on dyno then on the street. the shop is a controlled enviorment instead of highway. stock tires arent rated past 95 mph anyways

That's why I ahd them do it in 2nd gear. I've got some things working against me. My driveshaft is the single piece aluminum and with 3.42's and stock tires, it will go up to 138 or so before shutting down. Maybe I should let the track tell me how much hp I'm making!

Good call.

I got my chops busted like crazy when i made low numbers(?). But who had the last laugh when I ended up trapping faster then more than half the people that had almost 50+ more horsepower then me. Suck on that

yea thats a few things to be concerned about. however if youre on the track/highway and something gives out your FUBAR, if it lets go on dyno the truck i still strapped in place. with setups like youres and others those regions would be first thing i would focus on making safe at any speed. no sense in making power if you cant use it safely.


as for letting track speak thats a good thing however you wont know if you can gain power or not without mulitple passes back to back. on dyno you can see if 1* adds power or not.

I don't know if they make Z rated tires in my size! As for the drive shaft, it's next on my list of things to upgrade. Honestly, I hardly ever go above 90. Most of my runs/fun is the 0-60!

Good point....

Jon(DBRODS) had a good point Jay. I talked to him about how it sucks we usually only buy T rated tires, and he mentioned how most of the time we never go above 120, and if we do, it isn't for a prolonged period of time anyway, so T rated tires are usually good for the most part. As far as a T rated tire blowing out on the dyno, I mean your only doing 5-7 passes in a matter of hours, and the pulls only last for a few seconds anyway
