thanks man i cant wait just need to order the parts and get the dang crank bolt out.
Is it broke off? Or just haven't attempted yet?
They are freakin TIGHT!!!! I had a 24" ratchet and a pipe as an extension to get the damn thing off, holy crap was it tight. Waiting to torque it back in til I get it in the truck. No way I could do it on the engine stand. They are 240 lb ft with the old bolt, then 37 lb ft + 140 degrees with the new bolt, I just did one on a 6.0L, maxed out my snap on tech angle, final reading was 275 lb ft.
hate to say it BUT either way you go youre gonna need a tranny if you have the 4l60e and its stock, it may last awhile but it wont last long reason being youre gonna luv the new found power and not beable to keep your dang foot out of it ;)
Lol well i just pulled the trigger on a used
tsp 224/224xe cam for 275 shipped
yea im gonna have to take it light on the trans until i can get a good 65 or 80e
Nah the crank bolt isnt broke lol just too tight for me alone. but also the motor is on the stand. not sure how im gonna get it in the truck and pull it off and still do cam swap i was hoping to have the motor ready to drop in. since its my daily.
My buddies managed to get the pulley off on a stand so im gonna take it and my parts over there to work on it.
no air tools at my home. so thats why im gonna take it to the shop where will be doing the swap anyways.
Cut a 2x4 long enough to support the engine and keep it from twisting while you torque on the bolt.
i think i need more man power lol. i only weigh 150 and never worked out a day in my life.
Yea, just hit me up when you get ready for an 8oe swao, I've gotten pretty good at it now its like second nature, i got a salvage yard that usually gives me purdy good deals on em, the one I've got now had 30,000 miles and I gave $3oo bucks for it
