A six speed transmission makes a big difference when you have more gears to split before drive gear that alone would make a difference. I believe the dodge has 3.90 gears which if the tundra had the 4.30's im pretty sure the dodge would have to play catch up unless there is a large weight advantage for the dodge, also dodge seems to have higher stall converters stock so i would expect it would be a good race. by the time the dodge comes out, toyota will probably have found a way to make more power. I dont see toyota letting dodge one up them. I would like to see what gm has in store for toyota besides fuel mileage.
If it were me i would slap on the shortest, lightest tire and wheel combination i could fit on the dodge and watch the tundra disappear in the mirrors. That is what is slowing everybody down and causing poor fuel mileage... looks. Gotta have 20+ inches of aluminum spinning as fast as you can. I wish i could fit 15" rims on my truck with some 295/50's and see the difference in times. The decision on who wins between dodge or the homosexual toyota is going to be how it was built. There is so much left on the table from the factory as far as no horsepower producing mods that will reap big benefits at the track. Put a stall converter, 4.30 gears 6 speed automatic and short tires on a stock rcsb 5.3 and see the difference at the race track. I am not at all impressed with the tundra, put 3.42's or 3.73's in the rear end and a 4 speed automatic and see how much it slows down! bet a stock rcsb 5.3 or a rcsb hemi would be able to handle the tundra then.
All tundras with the towing package and 5.7 have 4.30 gears, I think we just have to wait to see which truck is faster. My tundra isnt that fast then again its a crew max, a total fat girl.
