Excuse my ignorance but what exactly do you do to remove the crank pulley and alt pulley. I'm assuming the crank will turn when you try to tighten it, so what do you do?

Getting the original crank pulley off is the biggest problem. If you dont have a quality 3 jaw puller (snap-on, mac, etc.) plan on breaking a few of the cheap ones. You will need a big piece o pipe to throw over your half inch ratchet to break the crank bolt loose, I use a prybar through the pulley to hold it. Once you win that battle you will need a new crank bolt to throw on the new dampner/pulley. The alt you should be able to get by holding more pressure on your belt with the idler, or use an impact.Quote:

I wouldn't recommend using a breaker bar on the crank bolt. Virgil and I broke the head off his doing that. Use an impact.
No but Virgil reuses his crank bolts which is a no-no and stresses the bolt to no end leading to a failure. If you do it to the GM specs you won't have issues. I don't know how many bolts I've put in, all new, with a breaker bar and never had a problem/failure of a GM crank bolt. :twocents:
I'm talking about removing them with a breaker bar. And last I knew Virgil always uses a new bolt?

Well I tried to order under drive pulleys from a local shop here in Austin. They took My money last week, told me they would be here Thursday. I called to make sure they are there, and They told me that ASP told them 2 weeks before they could ship anything out. Cause of the Hurricane in Houston. So thats prolly why Hitman doesnt have any. Bastards took my money and didn't call me to let me know... I had to call them on the day I was supposed to get them. Now I have to wait again for them to call and find another supplier.
I'm just seeing this. Eric has been having some medical issues lately. I'm not sure if he currently has any in stock or not. He was going to try and get online this weekend though so hopefully he can update you.
I hope he's all right.
