So true, I'm running 3.73 in the front and 4.10 in the rear till I make up my mind, I have very little binding in the front, in the mud you don't know, but I've got the elec 4x4 and the transfer case has clutches to distribute power evenly via the 3 speed sensors
i cant beleive the 5.3 wouldnt help much..

What am I talking about? What are you talking about lol, I've had this set up over a year now and have no issues, 4hi, 4low, and auto all work as its Spose to. If my transfer case was chain drivin then it would be diff, but a lot of mud trucks run lower gears in the front so the front pulls harder in the mud, not for hwy use of course, do some research b4 you down what u don't know much about, I can drive 45mph with my set up.
But I do agree with you on upgrading the motor instead of replacing it :). But gears will help him a lot , and will make good use of the power he has.
Also, you can't "disconnect the drive shaft" all of the transfer case fluid will leak out if you pull it, and you can't just unbolt the u joint and leave the other end hanging under the truck

The fuke are you talking about? People pull the front drive shaft on trucks all the time. The SS guys do it all the time to dyno and I know of at least one member on this forum who had his transfer case go out and drove without a front drive shaft for over 2 years.Quote:
