Well this weekend I got stalled on the motor, since I am waiting on a lot of parts I still need. So I decided to do some painting, I got the intake sanded down and ready to prime this week. Got the fuel rail and coil racks painted black, and got the valve covers primed and ready for paint. I got the coil packs and brackets off ebay used, maybe some day I can get me some MSD's....
I'm gonna paint the intake candy apple red, along with the valve covers to match the truck's color.

Seeing as how I have the engine out, I figured this would be the perfect time to get my aftermarket wiring straightened out. Everything I have on the truck such as LED's, off road lights and such is all hooked directly to the battery, which does the job but it doesn't look very good. All the wires in the picture were all previously in the engine bay, now I am going to put an aftermarket fuse block in the ext. cab under the rear seat out of sight.

Well today I painted the intake to match the truck, and then I clear coated the intake and the engine bay. Tomorrow I am going to wet sand and buff them out.

Well I painted the valve cover, BUT It turned out like crap. The paint cracked and got all fish scaled, so now I gotta sand them all back down. Down the road I am going to get polished one's, but for now this will do.

Nice build man one question what type of wiring harness are you going with?
-
def a nice build keep us posted.

I am using a 2000 Camaro wiring harness, with the cable driven throttle body. I know everybody buys the modded harness and the drive by wire, but I just want to be different I guess. I'm a rebel lol!

Here's some new pics of the engine, got some more goodies for it finally. I made the egr block off plates for the intake and exhaust, and got the plug wires for it. I have been at a stand still for the last couple weeks, mainly due to waiting on engine swap mounts from CURRENT PERFORMANCE. That is why I have not been working on my project, because I need to get the motor in the truck to start getting everything setup. To be continued:

That turned out awesome. Love the color. How thick was the material you used to make your egr blockoff?

Looks great so far man, love the engine colour! Good luck with the rest of the swap.
