for a LS1 id run a low 230s cam with a 3600 stall with least 410s. if tuned right will drive stock and have good mannors and pull strong.
220 in a LS1 isnt even worth it, its to small for a 5.3 rather alone a ls1

How can a cam be labeled to small when its bigger than stock just wondering?
also im seeing guys on ls1tech with the tsp220 and tune laying down 380 at the wheels.
you can also see 380 to wheels with stock cam and good set of heads. if you want 220 then go for it. Ive tuned a Ls1 that was stock with exhaust to 355rwhp/370rwtq. so 380 is only 25rwhp gain, for same price of a mans cam you can have over 400 rwhp. it comes down to what you want
Well i cant afford a transmission right now lol so idk if 400 would be good for me at this point. Id like to have something decent for now and then slap some heads on down the road to give me that 400 mark.
Im not set on a 220 but id like to run no bigger than a 3200 stall.
run 3200 stall, get used set of ported 243s and call it a day. for the money spent on the heads would be same price of Cam kit with 100% stock drivablity with more power
you wont lose any MPG since its your DD
i may just say the hell with it and buy a 224 comp cam and run the 3600 lol.
Im running a 24x/24x .61x/.61x on a 112 lsa.... Still going to drive the truck on the street on the weekends. Id say at least run a tsp228 or bigger. Why not call tsp and a few other places and see what size they would recommend...
Yea Trev, I'm runnin a 3800 yank and drive her everyday with no problems at all!!! so just do it and join the ass-bustin club!!:chevy:
lol i might as well man. Think im gonna do the 3600 and the 224/224 cam.
Gonna need a 4l80 shortly after im sure.
