Yep..
No excuse, it's called cosigning. I had bought 3 four wheelers and a truck by the time I turned 18 (all with my own money, one was even brand new). If your parents are willing to buy you a vehicle then they should be willing to cosign. Plus if you saved up some money you'd be able to buy many things with a decent down payment.
Why are you getting rid of your old truck anyway? Have them buy you a turbo or supercharger instead.
Man, why come everybody gotta hate on the spoiled kids. I'm not saying mom and dad bought everything I had/have, but they did help me out a lot. It just always irritated me to hear someone say "must be nice" any time my rents did anything nice for me. Just like my half sibblings always being bitter because my mom got me nice things like I had any control over it. I wasn't bitter when my younger brother got a brand new truck for graduation and I got a ska-doo, I was proud for him. I have bought plenty for myself and I appreciate the hand outs just as much as what I've worked for. I'm just saying let the kid get a new whip and be proud of it.
I'm not hating, just saying that he can get a cosigner to buy his own truck because he said he can't buy anything with no credit.
Cosigning doesn't do a damn thing for anybody as far as credit goes, all that does is make it to where if you can't pay it, they pay it. Honestly i don't want my parents name on anything of mine, because as long as it's like that, they can hold it over my head. I want it to be MINE!! and as far as a turbo, they don't go for that kinda stuff. They freaked out when i mentioned buyin me a cold air and a tune. Old schoolers lol
Having a co-signer doesn't help the co-signers credit but it will help yours as long as the payments are made. Even if I were buying my child a vehicle I would co-sign it for them so I could help out their credit. It takes longer but it still helps. That's what my pops always did for me, so it could build my credit. He's a country-boy self made millionaire so I trust his financial advice......until it comes to buying/modding vehicles(extra vehicles that is).
Correct. I've had my father co-sign on two 10k loans to finish the 69 and I had the credit to have my 08 put completely in my name, without a co-signer. Of course I paid off both loans early and I had a hefty down payment for the new one. I've also got credit from college loans and such too, so I guess I may be ahead of the curve, at 20 years old.
