moze the manifolds only have one stud...is that normal for a turbo kit?...i got my stock manifolds if you need to use them...just let me know

Adapter (left) plugs into injector (right) and is supposed to hook up to stock injector harness. Are these for the car engines??

you need LS1 style injector connectors.
those look like LS2 to LS1 adapters.
Call or go by Jotech. They may have them.

The taller ones have the LS1 style connectors. I believe there are some sets of adapters out there (I know kbracing96 bought a set from someone on pt.net), or you can cut off your existing pigtails and get a set of LS1 pigtails and splice them onto your harness.

Jotech doesn't carry "American muscle car" products (direct quote).

you just need the pigtails for mototron injectors. That style is the most popular for injectors, even for imports.

Those injectors look like they have adapters installed on them to convert to LS1 style. Do they look like they can be removed?

Any Mustang shop can get the injector plugs. Hell, PepBoys may have them, too.

Yeah there are adapters. The last picture shows the adapter and the injector as-is. I'm being told the adapter is for LS2 not LS1. If I knew I could sell these injectors pretty quickly I'd have someone overnight the right ones. :grr:

theyre the same as my 60 # motrons ,just have allen overnight you the pigtails,they really dont take long too wire in and shrink 2 wires .like an hour.my 60 s camme with the pigtails from allen ,i think theyre like 20 bucs.i know nelsom performance overnights,lol thats the only way i order from them .hurry ,hurry.good luck.

So the Ford Motorsports injector (bottom) is the same as an LS2 injector??? Seems like they'd be totally different given the different makes of vehicle. Weird.

OK - so like Billy said, I need the pigtails for the LS2's ('02 T.A. or Camaro w/the 5.7l).

Maybe I can get some money back for the adapters.

Anyway, Billy tracked some down for me for $8 a piece. Gonna either have Tyler pick them up or more than likely a courier.

considering that you have connecters for both type connections, you have the ability to use two different type pigtails. Go with the LS2 connectors and you can sell the adapters.

just cut and splice the pigtails...works fine if it didnt my truck wouldnt be running right now :D

First of all, thank you to everyone who showed up to help on this. Special thanks to Tyler and Virgil.

Friday evening, everything went fairly well. We pulled the headers and exhaust off my truck, pulled the exhaust off Matt's truck, and put the headers on his truck. The only two issues were one of the primaries was in the way of the bolted joint on the steering shaft. Should be easily fixed with a shallow nut and shorter bolt. Then one of the primaries on the drivers side was hitting the front drive shaft (4wd) but turns out it was because the motor mount was bad and making the engine sit lower that it should. So all in all, it was a successful install.

The turbo on the other hand wasn't.

The short of it is this was made for the original owner's Denali HD and will not work on a non-HD truck.We managed to get the downpipe in on the drivers side (after bending brake lines, moving wiring harnesses, etc,) but it was pushing pretty badly against the lower ribbed portion of the steering shaft. The wastegate sat too high for my hood to close (must have been ok on the Denali because of the higher hood). The intercooler wouldn't fit between the frame where it was designed to sit. I finally decided to stop trying to make it work and just pull everything out. So now all my go-fast parts are gone for the most part. I'm down to a stock block with a GT2-3 cam, stock intake with 60# injectors, stock exhaust, no more stage 2 heads, no more roller rockers, no headers.

Not how I was hoping to come out of the weekend. :sad:

The plan now is to regroup, sell the kit or part it out, and try to figure out what (affordable) route I want to go. Head is kind of swimming right now after the weekend, not sure what I want to do yet.

sounds like you just need a the piping for a front mount and a new intercooler...

You might try to get some parts from Trick Perf parts. They make good stuff. My truck is running with the turbo I just need the exhaust hooked up. There kit was right on the money.

That sux! There should be plenty of affordable kits out there that will work with your truck! There should be some out in the future as well! It seems that STS kits used are real cheap!

Yeah, ask around on all the forums about hot pipes. You've got a nice turbo and BOV now just locate the missing pieces. Sure its going to be quite a bit more pricey than when you started out but sometimes that happens when you bargain hunt. :sad:

I'm talking with Billy about some options, so I'll probably be good. But I will say I admire all your work. You look like your obsessive compulsive, which to me is a good thing lol. I bet you could make some cash if you were to produce some kits or at least pieces.

Not a problem bud. Glad ya made it on Friday. And you're right...that's what we're shooting for - fabbing up a front mount on the passengers side. Trying not to get my hopes up because that's the way stuff goes for me, but I think Billy is going to come through for me once again.

And not ignoring the rest of you - just exhausted lol. I think it's going to turn out good in the end, just need to redo my plan. Basically going to get an intercooler from Billy (guaranteed to fit), the hot pipes from KB and fab up the rest. Might try to trade the 80mm for a 72mm. We'll see.

Yeah don't give up on the turbo. I got to drive mine today finally and even without a tune it is baaaaaaaaadddddddd.

Well, I've got my hot pipes from KB racing - AWESOME FAST service! Got a 3.5" downpipe built by KB Racing from Mic (you rock dude!). Going to still run the 80mm turbo. I'm getting the intercooler through Billy - it will bolt right into the tow hook locations.

It won't be ready for the big meet on Aug. 2nd, but soon after I hope.

Since you're not in a rush now, take the pipes down and get them ceramic coated so they'll look nice. :thumb:

Yeah I can coat the manifold, but there's still some fab work to do on the cross over and the downpipe. So I'll get the manifold done and then some weekend pull the other two pieces off and have them done.
