Is the GC stock?
How much of a pain in the ass is it to change to cams in these trucks guys?????
Efans, UD pulley and a nice cam will get you into the 12s on motor in nice weather.
I've been meaning to install mine for the past 4 months but haven't wanted to put it in the shop (I'm not mechanically inclined :bash:). I've got it scheduled to get installed along with my posi next month while I'm out of town. Can't wait!!!:jump:
Hey you asked me and I told you I was stock, heck I've only had the thing less than a month, well if you count the fact that I had my strut bar and intake powder coated to match the body color does that might of given me an extra 50HP-LOL Daniel I hope your kidding about thinking I'm hiding something as far as that custom tune, surf thru all the SRT8GC forums and the only thing out is this new PCM from B&G and all it does it raise the rev limiter and shift points and for $900.00 they must be nuts, so yep its stock look at my sig on HTC and on the Jeep forums if you dont believe me. Diablo was supposed to have a tuner released at the end of Sept but it got pushed back, besides a borla or corsa exhaust, phelonic spacers there really is not much out for the Jeep. Wait a minute I do remember putting something in the day before we ran but I just cannot remember, do you see it in this picture-yeah i wish that was mine:D
I have one but Im using it lol, do the pulley when you do the cam since you will have to pull it off anyway to get to the cam.
Dude--go ahead and get both pulleys... Click here. Yeah, not worth it to do it twice in a month. Just wait for the cam install...
i have a ud pulley and im a non-beleaver. i cant say i noticed any difference in my times but it did make the throttle snappier which makes every day driving more fun.
ASP pulley is the only one made for our trucks. talk to hitman x
Ramair2002, sleeper is an understatment I bet you piss off alot of guys, nice mods
i think an UD pulley is kind of a waste..yeah it takes a little strain off the crank and gives it a better rev, but i never noticed any difference on my black truck...i dunno i think after cam and longtubes my truck is done until i blow the motor, don't need bigger injectors or an UD pulley
No dude--seriously. Bring it over and we can do it easily in 4-5 hrs. There's nothing to it. Why pay someone when you can drive in, learn more about the internals of your truck, hang out with some LS1 guys, drink a few cold ones, and then go to a strip club...uh, I mean...nope--that is exactly what I meant...:D
It's always fun to see the reaction of an unsuspecting victim!!
This says it all with the type of guys you deal with on the site!! :thumb: I really appreciate the help and would love to make the trip and meet up, but my dad has his own shop and has done the install on all of the stuff in my sig. So when I go out of town, I just leave my truck with him and when I get back....POOF it's done!! Thanks for the offer Txark!!
You lucky bastard! It would be nice to drop it off at my dad's shop when I need mods installed... But it is fun to do your own install and b/s with other gearheads... But good luck with the install--let us know how it all works out!
P.S. I'd ship your PCM to Allen right after you drop your truck off at your dad's shop--that way while his guys are installing everything, the PCM can be flashed and back in the truck with the new tune before you return..
You're right, it's kinda a double edge sword. Good that I have a shop to do this, bad that I don't get as involved as I would like! And thanks for the advice about the PCM, I will definitely get that in the works so it will be ready to go as soon as I get back. :burnout:
It would be cool to do the install, but you live about 3-3.5 hrs away...a little far to drive for just for an install... Yeah, have the PCM ready so they can fine tune it while you are gone...
