What about this cam 226/229 .575/.578? Nothing else is done to the truck yet. I have hp tuners and will have it tuned when the cam is installed and plan on matching with a stall. Plans for the truck are daily driver/ hot rod. Nothing crazy

If I ran the 226/229 in a Hoe, I would get a 3600 stall and at least 4.10's to go with it.
Your first cam would be nasty with high comp., 4k stall, and 4.56's. But then you would lose driveability...
i can do the 4.10's but 3600 is pretty high for a stall
After driving my 3000-3200 stall for a while, 3600 would be too high IMO for a daily driven Tahoe, but not so bad on a relatively lightweight RCSB. Research enough around various performance forums and you'll find the two most commonly recommended performance cams for normally aspirated 5.3L trucks are the Comp 212/218 low-lift (for stock converters) and the TR220 (with a ~3K stall on heavier trucks). There's also the Comp 216/220 that is slightly larger than the 212/218 low lift that still lets you run the stock converter if you choose.
says the rpm range on the cam is 1700-6600 so i should be good with a 2800 stall right?
do you think the 7.400 pushrod will work?
yea thats what i was planning...3000 and 4.10s
