I average 15.5mpg in the city and get nearly 20mpg on the freeway... I just cruise about. I don't recall the last time my truck's seen over 3000rpm :laugh:
Also I fillup around when I'm down 20gal of fuel. I'm quite pleased with the economy I've gotten!
This is all with being undergeared with 285ATs on 3.73:1 gears... my secret is not to go over 70mph on the freeway.

I don't drive fast, I drive the speed limit at all times. I wish I knew what I could do to improve this gas mileage.
My little 02 Chevy Cavalier gets 32mpg!! Thank god for 4 bangers when the gas prices go up.

Went on a trip to Florida for Thanksgiving and averaged 22mpg. That was with 26" tires and a 2500 stall and an STS turbo kit. Best milage it has ever gotten.
i think i am going to have to go to (THROTTLE MANAGEMENT SCHOOL) to be able to figure that out.
It will be interesting to see what 02Denali's fuel mileage is after the transmission swap-out. I keep seeing the 4L80E's losing considerable fuel mileage vs. their 4L60/65E counterparts. I guess you will have to break the trans in conservatively so we can get some comparisons.
I swapped a 4L80-E into my truck about 4 months ago and i am getting around 10.4 mpg around town. I am hoping there is something else going on to make me get mileage that crappy.
I can go about 390-400 miles between fills, and 18 gallons is the most it ever takes. I think that is about 22. The least it ever got was driving to Houston with the big stall and racing included at the track was 19.5 MPG.
