Only 2500+ trucks 05+ have discs on the back. This does not count utilities that are all disc. Not worth the effort although the discs are much better IMO. I'm not considering specialty models BTW.
there are companies that buy surplus parts from axle mfg companies and sell them for about $500 complete. I think Cowl327 or Txarkitkt knew of a place in DFW to get them.
you can buy weld on brackets for the calipers for under 90bucks. and you can bolt on calipers and rotors on the back. Use a search on ebay and you should find some.
Rob--There are brackets (as stated above) where you can adapt the trucks for rear discs. Just grab a set from the salvage yard from a How Or Sub and you're in business. It sounds like you are on the right track as far as things go, so yes--the proportioning valve is definitely required.
