for the 4l60e you have to have the 40 pulse per drive shaft turn. Only way is a reluctor mounted on tcase or differential. I have thought about fabricating a kit for the np208 which never came with a vss.

i mounted a reluctor on the output shaft of the transmission and i took the tailhousing for the transmission, drilled and tapped it for a speed sensor. Call the guys and jags that run the will set you up

so if you get the pinion mount what happens when it gets covered in mud or snow?

so something like this wont work to contol the trans, but it would work good if you were using like a th400?

that is correct it wont work with 4l60e's because it wont read enough pulses

I am not sure what happens with mud or snow. I think most will fling off and since the mud or snow should not affect the pulse generation i think it will be ok. Ultimately I will make up somekind of reluctor for the np208 but I want to get it running while i work that out.
