If you can get the chance--do a live tune. A speed density tune is pretty much the same thing. IMO, a live tune is the best for any setup--even if you just have a CAI. To get the absolute 100% out of a tune--you need a live tune done.

isnt that basicly the same thing as a dyno tune? whats the differance?
No, a dyno tune is different. A live tune happens when a tuner plugs in a wideband and runs a tuning software live on a laptop and continuously monitors all of the vehicle's functions controlled by the PCM. A live tune is way better than just a dyno tune...
thats exactly what he did, even welded a new bung in the exahaust for the wideband, he just did it all on the dyno. he used hp tuners
well heres my 2 cents..a live street tune allows the tuner to adjust for drivability issues such as tq convert lock and unlock, shift firmness, quick stop surging and numerous other seat of the pants things you don't detect or feel on a dyno....A Dyno is very good at dialing in peak HP plus you don't get a ticket doing it
now i got ya, thanks gator, tx
Speed density tuning is normally used for forced induction since it uses boost pressure for tuning instead of MAF signal. Dyno tuning is not the way to go unless you are trying to max HP numbers. A live tune is a better all around tune. In short, a live SD tune will give you the most accurate tune so that you get the most out of your truck.
would a set of gears help you bottom end? my buddys sierra is a dog until 60.. but hes to cheap to buy a set of gears and crys about it killing his MPG
