Small security measures

a little too late now, but I decided to start doing what I can secure my new Dmax a little better.
last week some jackass popped the driver handle lock out and stole my Valentine.
that's what i get for leaving it out in plain site.
way to go thug for doing a pretty stealth and quick job lol.

anyway, my first mod is this, can anyone see it?

The App will only work (start ur truck) if you have The Remote Control starter installed.

Looks good without key hole, I did this on my red truck and maroon truck!

One theif got pissed I guess cause couldnt breakin into the red truck and just hit the handle with a hammer... Ppl dont have respect fpr other ppls hard earned money!

I like the mod and yeah the whole world can disappear if some one wants it bad enough!

Same thing that happened to mine in SA last Feb. What handle did you buy? A rear crew cab handle?

Yes, but you have to swap the door handle internals. The back door has a longer latch than the front.

Someone clear this up so I can do this over Christmas break. Mine is all sorts of jacked up and the cylinder won't accept a key anymore anyway.

yes, just buy , same side, rear door handle.
I see your truck has just plastic handles, like mine.

No need to swap anything internally, it all just bolts up. No modifications required.
One thing we did: the rod that goes from the handle to the door mechanism, flip it over to the right side of the handle lever.
So, instead of inserting it into the outside of the lever, insert the rod into the inside out.
Reason: the lever on the rear handle is a little longer and I wanted to get the rod closer to it's original position.
Doing it this way, will offset it just a tad, not much, and bring it closer to the handle.
Oh ya, pop that small white bushing the rod rides on, and push it on the lever from the inside.

Well at least they didnt basically destroy your ignition cylinder...I can barely turn my freaking key when its in the ignition.

I'm glad i live in a town of 4500 people where no one has the balls to touch my truck.

I just know from research that several people have had issues using the stock back handles when not swapping the internals. Not saying it won't work, but I'd rather have it work 100% of the time than 98% of the time. It literally takes 2 minutes to pop the clip out of each handle and swap the levers.

Also, guys with NNBS trucks prior to 09' watch out for door lock actuators going out on you if you do this mod, that would seriously suck. It is unlikely both would go at at the same time, but you never know. I think I'd be more worried about the battery (in the truck) dying.

Door lock actuators are super fails on 2007-2009 GMT900 trucks. I have several sets of black handles. They may be missing the LF but no one in this topic wants the LF. The lever length is very different front to rear.

On my nbs I sed a tahoe handle and had to trim the plastic on inside a lil... Really is a cool mod to do for anyone that does... I wanna do it to my saab because that keyhole is an eyesore!

I'm just getting it ready for the upcoming race season so they're are no real secrets to be kept. It's just a minimally forged 6.2 with a smallish turbo and a few other small goodies, definitely not going to be a rocket ship, haha it's just a very clean, impressive and reliable built system that Nelson Performance is doing and I can assure you I won't be hiding it.

Now as for the next phase(s) which are already deep into the planning/purchasing stages, well that's all a whole different story and that won't be talked about.

Very nice. Should be a fun ride at any rate.
