Anyone know where I can find a Yank 2600 Torque Converter in stock for
a 1999 Chevy Silverado with 5.3, 3.73 gears.. Only minor mods to truck.
Yank is closed until Jan 12th due to flooding.
I am repairing my tranny as we speak, wanted to put in a new converter
while we were at it.
Thanks,
Brian

A lot of the guys are getting custom built convertors. Allen can tell you who built his for his application and it's not any more expensive than a Yank or Vigilante(what I'm running).

JEGS has the TCI ls1 converters. I use the "breakaway" stall and it's good for 2500 stall. I want bigger though.

Thanks for the comments fellas..
STS
Anything you like/dislike about the TCI Converter.
I can't afford the vigilante.

i havent heard any thing good about the tci converters, i talked to 2 tranny rebuilders who think they lack in strength and durability, but thats just what i heard and you know everybody has a diff opinion on this, :twocents: plus they seem to be as much as some converters ive seen from fuddle and others.

no probs yet..however, we'll see when the new motor goes in with the extra HP and Boost. I'm guessing all the weak areas will show rather quickly. :burnout:

There is a nice Vigilante for sale on LS1Tech for $400. I can't remember the stall though.

Well I wish had my new setup coming, then I would sell you my YANK 2600 converter with about 3000 miles on it, but it's still going to be about a month before I'm ready to sell. Those Yank 2600 converters are perfect for a daily drivin truck that sees towing alot. Only reason I'm going to sell it cause I want to slap a 3200 in it when I order my built tranny. Good Luck finding one Check with Speed & Engineering. Or look into them Fuddle Converters. :twocents:

Ok Guys. Trying to get my tranny back together.
Posted the other day about my tranny and sprag problems.
ZCould not get a yank in time needed so I finally found a
Trail Blazer Torque Converter.
Unfortunately the only one they had was part number: 24213393
Which is for the 5.3 L. .. Anyone know what this will stall
in my 1999 Z-71 with 5.3l and 3.73 gears.
Anyone else used this part number converter in Silverado.
