Intake close to completion :)

Just got the intake ready for the set of fuel rails i picked up :). I removed all top brackets and the grid patern, had it prep'd and painted flat black. Then...i went to put on my fuel rails and found out that they dont work with the truck manifold, even though i asked the guy at summit about 5 times. Oh well, im gonna make some custom brackets to make it work anyway. Porting and polishing the TB right now so thats why it isnt in the pics. Here are some pictures of the almost finished product, hope you guys like it.

looks good, its not hard to make custom brackets. you'll be fine, i had to make some when i used edelbrock fuel rails on the l92 intake.

FYI save your motor now and sell those rails


professional products are junk and their aluminum is to soft. when you use these rails and tighten them down youll end up embedding the metal ring on top of injector into the rail. later youll have these piece of aluminum get clogged into your injector. If you dont believe me search for this happening.

Ive seen this happen 3 times with these rails by 3 different users
ive also seen the ends of the rails get flared from tighting the fittings in place and seen leaks here

For some reason i can respond with a quote. It took a total of about 3 weeks. Used a mini air saw for the first cuts, the brackets for the cover were probably the easiest thing to remove. Hardest things to remove was the material between the vacuum ports on the top. My best friend had this wierd electric triangle sander that was perfect for taking down the grid patern, but i was unable to get the patern gone from the posts that holds the throttle cable plate. I am pumped it turned out the way it did...because if it didnt i was looking at $1200 F.A.S.T intakes :(

since when is a fast intake 1200 dollars? ive found them 860 shipped
