Front end vibration
So around 55+ mph the front of my truck starts to shake. First i thought it might be the new tires on my Titan rims. SO i had another set of stock rims and tired mounted and balanced and same thing. Jacked up the front end yesterday one side at a time and im able to grab the top of the tire and get some play out of it. Im wondering if the bearings in the wheel hub are http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/site-...rum-rules.html and the hub needs to be replaced. I have not had time to pull the wheel and brakes off yet as the garage is full of material. Any input is appreciated. Also if i do replace the HUBS would Tiemken hubs be ok to use? They are like $160 each.

bumpsky any ideas suggestions?

Are they the original hubs? Pretty good chance that's it if they are. As far as the Tiemken brand, we use their bearings all the time at work in the equipment with alright luck. Never dealt with their automotive stuff. If I remember correctly GM replacements are around the $300 mark

Sounds like the upper ball joint is shot. I'm going through the same process, but I dont have any vibration. Is there any grinding noise/feel when you spin the tire when its off the ground? All 4 of my ball joints are bad, and its not much more expensive to replace the whole control arm with new bushings compared to new moog ball joints.

Well the truck has 125k and all the hubs and ball joints are original. Here in a few weeks once its warmer and my garage is cleaned out i will pull the wheel and brakes off and do some looking. I was considering redoing the front end with ball joints, tie rods, and hubs but it aint gonna be cheap..... Guess ill just drive it when i have to no SAR this year from me again dammit....
