How old is it? Was it stock or modified? From what I hear he has a good reputation. I wouldn't be suprised if he will warranty his work.
you just got the posi in right? if you're not spinning as much, something has to take the punishment.
hey, are you going to make it over to houston? i'm going to try, i think my truck will be done, it'll still be ugly, but don't get in my way, hehehehhe
see ya,
damn...thats some good traction there hay hauler...ask lance bout traction
no traction here. This thing started acting up on the hiway coming home from work, and yes it is under warranty. Built to hold 600 hp, 2 weeks old . Just a pain to have to take it out again. Not sure about Houston when is it?
Just for everyones info, I don't blame the builder these things happen.
There isn't one 4L60E out there that will hold up to the abuse a 600hp engine will deliver! That's just my opinion and I'm sure many others. The 60/65E is just too weak. There aren't enough aftermarket parts out there to replace every stock component inside the trans. They were never meant to handle anything over 400hp in the hands of a truck enthusiast like us. Sure they will last a while, but they won't hold for more than a year, if they do, you don't drive hard enough! :devil:Quote:

This isn't the last time this will happen hay hauler, hell I'm EXPECTING mine to go out after a few fun runs, if it holds, well lucky me. That's why I'm planning now for an 80E, it seems like the only option if you want overdrive. Or, go with a TH400 and a gear vendors unit, that would be kick ass!
I hope you get it fixed soon, and ya, it's a pita pulling them with no lift.
good luck,
allen
I figure I will be dropping mine at least once a year for a refresh. The 60E is so easy to rebuild. I need to get the tool to install the teflon rings on the input shaft and the tool to compress them back down. I also need the tool to install the teflon rings on the front pump , too. I paid the local tranny shop to install the seals last time. Has anyone on here tried one of the Raptor transmissions, transmissioncenter.net, they build over in Louisiana? They say it will hold up to some serious power.
