I am soon buying the HP Tuners programs and was wondering what tables should I be changing around. I understand some tuning but basically I want the tune I make to be better than any hand held programmer such as hypertech. Help?

Thats like buying a do it yourself atom bomb kit and asking where to start...LOL
Go to the HPtuners site and spend about a week or more reading the forums
In order to get the perfect tune, it requires hours of logging and fine tuning.
Basically it comes down to:
Optimizing the timing tables
Optimizing air fuel ratio
Setting up the transmission to your liking
Get all those done and you will have the perfect tune.
But seriously, like Cowl said, it is a steep learning curve, so start reading now and learn all the basics before attempting. After that, it is easy.
check out this. HPTuners programming for dummies - LS1LT1.com/LS3Forums.com would you say that was a good start or would you change it any??
Honestly....start out with the basics and read ALOT! Learning is the fun part but the down side is breaking stuff....
anything is gonna be better than the hypertech
read hptuners.com forum for days...
they say it takes 100 years... no body knows.
no really, tuning isnt some voodoo art, engines havnet changed much. how we control them is ALWAYS advancing.
