I can't say for all tracks, but most of them require it, plus it's just a smart idea incase you blow the front u-joint you don't catapult yourself.
It's not gonna hurt and they're fairly cheap so why not?
If your running at a track that follows any kind of rules then YES. With Drag slicks you need a hoop within 6'' of the front ujoint.
I thought that was only a requirement for slicks?...I have enver been asked about a loop...hmmmm
I think if you're putting any decent amount of power down and racing you should have one, slicks or not.
It's $50 and two hours work at the most. Do it.

do it... I didnt and i paid for it. Tranny exploided going down the road, twisted the driveshaft in half. The driveshaft ripped my exhaust to pieces. Just a good idea to have one.... After the way mine went down its TWO under there!
