Im thinking about doing those mods to my truck cause I've heard that they help performance wise.. When should I do it? in a cam swap or when?
Do they really help a lot? any advice? thanks

whenever you have the heads off, in my opinion you shouldn't get too crazy with port and valve sizes, the motor still needs velocity unless your going FI. Same applies with exhaust, people think you need some back pressure, wrong. You need velocity and you dont get that with a massive pipe, there can be a very fine line. EDIT: The velocity helps pull more air in.
so, if im going N/A, shouldnt do that?
Yeah man, you can do it--but I'd deck the heads slightly to bump CR a smidgen. The valve job and PnP will help clean them up and flow better. I say do it! :thumb:

What do you mean with that bro??
Alright.. I might do PnP and 3 angle job in my cam swap... I'll put the pushrods and the valvesprings while I am at..
he means machining the heads down just a little bit, it makes the combustion chamber just a wee bit smaller which bumps up your compression ratio
you have a cam size in mind? this will help decide on what needs to be done, but by all means at lease have the heads milled enough to basically clean them up.
Im thinking about the 224... what do you think?
or 220 Im not sure about those two..
