I used the block off plate when I first started my engine (just because I was in a hurry to hear it run)...then I attached the hard lines from the LQ4 oil cooler adapter lines to the old 1986 C-30 7.4L oil cooler hard lines with compession fittings. (Used the old neopreme lines from the 7.4).
I bought a blockoff plate from dealer....dont forget gasket and bolts!
you guys talking tranny lines?
O.K. I'll ask... Is/was their a engine oil cooler option on LS1 or other LS based engines? What vehicle(s) or engine(s) was this on? Where, on the block would they connect? Where does one buy the cooler/adapter/lines? Never heard of this.
my 06 6.0 had the engine oil cooler option.
I ditched it and put a blockoff plate.
The oil cooler adapter bolts to the side of the oil pan just above the oil filter.
Yes...all the HD trucks I've seen have them. My 2000 2500 6.0L had an oil cooler. There's a machined spot on the block just above the oil filter with the feed and return holes in it. Cars have a block off plate there.
If you want I can get a picture of mine for you.
Edit: Redheartbeat "beat" me to it...gotta love dialup.
Thanks, I rememeber that now.
