harmonic balancer

Hey all-

I'm installing a 6.0 and a custom Nelson Perf. cam into the truck and have a few quick questions for those that have done this.

The balancer on the 6.0 is bent, so I cannot re-use it thanks to the salvage yard for being so careful :(

Can I use the balancer from the 5.3(it looks identical) or are they balanced to the specific engine?

Also I know that the balancer is not keyed, so does it matter where you put it back on in relation to the crank?

I wouldn't mind an aftermarket balancer if you guys can recommend a good one that doesn't cost too much......and do they come pre-balanced??

Also any other advice for a cam and 6.0 upgrade install that you guys can think of feel free to throw it out.

The one from your 5.3 will work fine. They are zero balance since they mount without a key so no balance. It doesn't matter what position it is installed. Sorry Quick beat me to it!

Get a 25% underdrive harmonic balancer pulley for it. Since you need a crank pulley, go ahead and do this simple mod. Need a new crank bolt too.
