ya LQ4 came with 317 heads on them and the ls6 has 243 heads on them they flow the same but 317 heads have bigger cc chambers, hope this helps good luck
sorry for the highjack , but can you use 4.8 heads on a lq4-lq9 block ? also what about 4.8l intake can that be used on a 6.0l .
the intake will or the heads ? i am planing a 6.0l swap and relly want to know what i can use off my 4.8l it is in a 06 rcsb 4x4 5speed ? if need i will start my own post . thank you thomas
sorry for being a noob , now least say we use 4.8l heads on a lq4 block that gives around a 11:1 cr , can we not mill the heads or open the cc up a lil , or use a thicker or thinner head gasket to get our cr down below 11:1 , and will i be able to use my accsors of my 4.8 on the 6.0l and headers and all the wonderfull bolt on stuff , so i should be able to get a short block and use every thing off my 4.8 on the 6.0l minus heads if we cant get the cr down .
sorry for rabbling but i am trying to wrap my head around this fully as my truck just ran out of warrenty and i need more out of this truck as i will be buried in it . thank you thomas.:tacos:
i am thinking you would wanna lower the cr for drivablity sake as for 11:1 cr you would need to run high octane fuel above the 91 octane easily avaliable here , would you not , also would the pcm be able to keep up with that high of a cr , i would also think to fuel it would you would need to upgrade injectors i would also want more tourqe then hp and want it low in the power band , four wheeling and towing . so if i am headed in the right direction i would assume all i would need is a short block , and possabily heads ?
