Most connectors on the harness should be ok, just pay careful attention to the knock sensors. After 75K, you may want to take a close look at them. If they are not looking too good, but a new set and get the separate harness for the knock sensors. Besides that, I don't know of anything else that could cause a problem. Your dad's advice is spot-on with the contact cleaner and dielectric grease. It will keep everything clean and moisture-free.
