Thats the 6.0 out of a truck not a vette, thats why its close the lq4 is truck, ls2 is vette.
Yea I know that, I've seen that # for the 6.0 before. I was wondering if the 5.3 and 4.8 really had as much power as this guy says.
those are engine hp not rwhp mine is rated, or i should say they told me "305" hp but its not i know, its a quick motor to say the least.
depending on the truck the difference in the 6.0 and 5.3 can be a huge difference or a tiny difference. in a small truck its like night and day. the 5.3 is a great motor but the 6.0 does super with a rcsb. every mod u do to a 6.0 will have a better effect than the 5.3 imo.
Ok, ok. I will try and dip into the memory bank here:
1999-2002
4.8L (LR4) 270 hp/285 ft. lb.
5.3L (LM7) 285 hp/325 ft/ lb.
6.0L (LQ4) 300 hp/360 ft. lb.
8.1L (L18) 340 hp/455 ft. lb. (01-04 only?)
02-07 Classic
4.8L (LR4) 285 hp/290 ft. lb.
5.3L (LM7) 295 hp/335 ft. lb.
5.3L FF--E85 (L59) 295 hp/335 ft. lb.
5.3L HO (L33; 05-07 Classic) 310hp/335 ft. lb. (available in EC 4WD only)
6.0L (LQ4) 325 hp/370 ft. lb.
6.0L HO (LQ9--VortecMAX, had special high-compression 10:1, flat-top pistons) 345 hp/380 ft. lb.
That is as much as I know from 1999-2007 Classic. I am sure if you need the NBS hp figures, you can go to GM's website.

I just now realized that GM let their little 5.3L crank out more power than the 6.0L...the 5.3L HO (L33) made 310hp/335 ft. lb., but it was available in EC 4WD only. That is 10 more hp and 25 ft. lb. less torque--which isn't a lot. I am not sure where everybody got their numbers from--I just used what was stored in my brain--but....I just now looked up this awesome link and found out some really neat info and history on the LS engine...
