I've seen guys on here who say they have a ls1 or ls6 intake on their 5.3 or 6.0, will it work and work efficiently? Or do you have to have cam and all the other goodies to get the full benefit? I'm always lookin for different stuff like this. Do any of you have this mod and if so how do you like it? How much HP can i expect if i go this route?

I don't think there is anything to gain either way. Both intakes produce similer numbers on dynos.

You cant just swap the intake. You need the LS1 fuel rails, injectors, injector connectors, as the injectors are longer and have a different style plug in. The water pump is in the way too. Also, you would need to do the LS1 style brackets.
I think there are some ways around some of the issues, but it isnt as easy as just changing manifolds. It does look better, but there are many other things that will have more benefit.

Yeah, I was thinking that the Z06 intakes came standand on 2001 and newer. Specifically it was mid-year in 2001 that the newer intakes started being installed as the standard intake.

OK maybe I should reread that chapter. I know that when they added the ls6 intake to the ls1 the HP jumped 5.
