    how easy is it to install a posi rearend like an eaton do you just bolt it in or do you hafto worry about backlash and shit??? or is that just when you change gears???

    You still have to mess with backlash but that is the easy part. Since you aren&#39;t changing the pinion gear out you don&#39;t have to worry about pinion depth. That makes changing out the diff a lot easier. Feel the amount of backlash you currently have and try to match it or tighten it up just a smidge. Backlash is set by moving shims from one side of the diff to the other. Shim kits are available at most auto part stores or you can order them online from Randy&#39;s ring and Pinion or CaliforniaGear.com.
