Alright guys this is my first post even though I have been reading this forum for awhile. I have a 2002 RCSB Z-71. It has the ls1 fans, 145 amp alternator, magnaflow catback and tb by-pass. I am searching for a cam. I have a friend who is going to sell me his ls1 hotcam for $125 if I want it. I use this truck as a daily driver and to pull my 21foot bassboat on the weekends and I am not sure if this would be a good cam for me. I am tryin to do a budget buildup but, I want the truck to perform well. Will the hotcam be a good choice for the money or would the 01 ls6 cam etc., be better?

    Thanks

    Welcome

If I remember correctly, the 6.0L LQ9 cam and the LS6 cam are the same, so either one should do fine other than you'll lose a little bottom end torque. I always say that if you are going to be pulling a trailer much that you really need 3.73 or 4.10 gears to help you out.

The 01 z06 cam might be the same, but the 02-04 isnt the same as the lq9. I would get about a 26-2800 stall if you are still going to be towing and maybe some long tube headers. I have the 04 z06 cam and really didnt lose any torque at all.
