    Decking 241 heads

I am trying to find out how much I would have to deck a set of 241 heads to get 10.5:1 on stock ls1 pistons. Also would I have to worry with valve clearance on a .580 lift cam?

241 heads are stock for an LS1 and stock compression is about 10.19:1 so not much decking is required.

    241/853/806/339 LS1 head = 66.67 cc and had 10.19:1
    243 LS6 head = 64.45 cc and had 10.46:1

Thanks for the comparison of those 2.
So just roughly every 1cc is about .006 . Im thinking that .015 should put me pretty close.

If you surface that much off you may have to get a different pushrod length unless your running adjustable rockers. Also will affect your intake manifold mating surfaces to some degree. I wouldn't recommend more than .010 IMO.
