    Knock Sensor Problem???

i have a 00 silverado with a 5.3. I just had the tranny built and now it shifts so hard i get a knock sensor code. I was wondering if there was a way around this? My old truck did the same thing so i had to soften up the shifts but i dont want to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

sounds like you had 100% of the torque management removed from the PCM tune and now you need some of it put back in.

Need to know what kind of trans build it was if the tuning is stock. That's one helluva shift if it causes KR.

The pcs might be disconnected, in default mode = hard ass shifts (but a code would pop up.
Or, the trans builder turned the torx head on the pcs too much, OR, installed a bunch of washers and it's hitting hard.

If it's hitting hard in every gear, probably pcs related.
Just one gear = the builder just made it shift hard.

If it's shifting that hard, you need to go back into the trans to fix it.

Ya its pretty hard in all gears but the 1-2 shift is the worst. I wanted it like that. It has 35x12.5 on it and it squaks them into second. The tranny was upgraderd to all billet parts and a stage 2 shift kit with corvett servos and much more. I truck pull the truck mostly. I was wondering if i could use that JET dynamic spectrum tuner program to make my own tune and turn the KR to 0 if that would do the trick? I dont want to keep sending my PCM out to be tuned cause im always changing the truck.

stupid hard shifting = broken parts. shifts should be firm but no where near HARD. I wouldnt bother trying to take the hardness out with PCM tuning as its a band aid fix.
