Check Engine light

My check engine light came on today and the code reads
P0442 My gas cap is tight and it wont go off. How do i reset it and or what is wrong with the truck? Thanks guys

prob need a new gas cap....that code is an evap system test...even though the cap is tight it could still be not holding the pressure like it should....go get ya a new gas cap buddy

And check your rubber vacuum hoses under the truck for cracks.

I put a 3 inch body lift on about a month ago and had to cut the filler hose and such and did not know if this would cause it if i did not get it all tight. Also will it just go off if i get it fix or do i have to reset it and how do i reset it? Thanks

it will fix it...also you can have it cleared by Autozone

Make sure the filler hose and breather hose coming from the tank to the fuel door is solid. If there is a crack or break in the lines, you will get the CEL.
