Waht gear oil should i get? 75W90 or 85W140?
2003 RCSS Chevy 5.3L Fully Bolted, Cammed, Yanked, and 342s. Borla Exhaust w/ Electric Cutouts.
75w90 and no synthetics with an Auburn, they require petroleum oils only with a friction modifier additive that will come with the diff.

1. 5W-30 is preferred.
2. GL-4 is a synthetic gear oil, GM part no. 12346190.
3. GLS is a special gear lube, GM part no. 12345349 (5-SPD).
4. GLS is synthetic lubricant; use only GM part no. 12378557
5. 80W-90 GL-5 is a synthetic lube; GM part no. 1052271.
6. Do not use synthetic lubricant in axles using RTV sealant.
Synthetic lubricant will chemically atack RTV sealant.
7. GLS is synthetic lubricant; use only GM part no. 12378557
8. Do not add friction modifier.
9. SLF is GM part no. 12378508 (U.S.), 10953626 (CAN).

1. After refill check oil level.
2. With engine at operating temperature, shift through all
gears. Let engine idle in PARK for at least 3 minutes. CK
level and add fluid as needed.
Do not overfill.
3. Approximate, fill to level of fill plug.

Awesome information!
Always remember to use the fluids recommended by the differential manufacturer. The instructions from Auburn says you will void their warranty if you use synthetic fluid in their diffs. GM axles use synthetic fluids and a paper gasket on the cover. The cover gasket is almost imposssible to find anywhere but the dealership. Auto parts stores will try to sell you silicone to seal the rear end. Don't do it. The previous post backs up this fact. Paper seals better, anyway. Don't forget to add the friction modifier(I read somewhere that it's actually whale fat!)
