New to the forum. Need advice. Want to purchase a supercharger for 2004 Silverado SS. LOVE this truck but get pissed when a Lightning pulls a better 1/4 mile. BUT...need reliability. I've heard some superchargers use ceramic blades--heard that's bad. Somebody steer me right!

Also, how hard to install for a moderately handy guy? Know cars, but definitely not a mechanic. Help...

Lots of boost for such a high compression motor to start with... 10.1:1

I'd consider a full exhaust, fat stall, and a nice cam. Make easily 60-80 more to the wheels.

Check ATIs Procharger, very reliable, excellent power increases, very streetable, self contained oiling, decent gas mileage(as long as your foots out of it) Installation difficulty is moderate, about 8 to 10 hours.

From a dependability and maintenance point I like the STS since it's so much easier to r&r a remote turbo than a supercharger. Oil changes on the superchargers are an additional liability, also. Watching LS1Tech and Corvetteforum over the last two years has shown me numerous rebuilds on superchargers. It's a given evil with turbos, I know, but what do you expect with the RPM those things spin. With the right turbo you can dial in whatever amount of boost you desire. I know you're looking for a blower but the turbo just makes more sense.

I run a Procharger and I have had zero problems with it and I have put 14000 miles on the kit. Radix will give you a lot of out the hole torque which you can use to your adavantage with that all-wheel drive and its more of a buy and install and you ready kit. Were as the Procharger you will half to get tune and buy bigger injectors. I would also look into Turbo's to those kits have a lot of potential in them and can make some very big numbers.

The ATI is a bigger unit than the Radix too... that means it'll make more power, more efficiently. Granted it has to "spool up" if you will, a good stall will take care of that.

There are many options for you too choose from, just do research and more research. I run a kenne bell @ 8.5psi on my Denali and it is my everyday driver. If you are not on the throttle you dont even know its there. However when you step on it there is no mistaken.
