    1st LS1 truck

Well I bought my first LS1 truck a couple years ago and I just finished my boat project and I can finally work on my truck. I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 with a 5.3 in it and 195K miles. My truck survived the tornado we had last April so im looking to get the exterior looking a little better, and rebuild the motor and transmission. Im not looking to go extremly wild with the upgrades just something that will be able to pull my boat and my horse trailer. Any help or info will be greatly appreciated.

    what are your HP goals?
what do you do with the truck?
all motor, nitrous, or forced induction?

Start out with the diff, put a good solid unit in it like a truetrac or valuetrac. I would put a 2800+ convertor in it too just so that it allows you to come up on power when pulling the boat out of the water. It's also nice for when wheeling, it gives you more power to pull the hills or over obstacles. An added bonus is on ice you won't spin the tires as easily at low RPM takeoffs.

I'm just looking for a nice respectable truck. Nothing killer, just some good hp that will pull the horses and my boat. I want to keep it all motor.
